And why is there such a resentment to the X6M? M cars need to be kind of wacky...I mean the X6 is what, huge, and the M5 is NOT? Do you guys track your M5s, or, do you drive going sideways in a 1.9 ton car with your children vomiting all over the back?
Because for years BMW insisted M is not AMG. They said that they don't just trot out every car they make and stick a supercharger on it. That was until they realised they could make a quick buck with the X5/X6 M. So what happened to all the previous comments about the "base having to be right"?
Why couldn't they just call it the X5iS? Because BMW knew they could gain a few extra sales because of the M badge. Simple as that. No amount of marketing will fool me or a few others on here.
With regards the M5 comment. 1,855kg IS too heavy I agree. But unfortunately cars are getting heavier, what with all the extra technology and safety built into them. It doesn't mean it is OK to then go and make two M SUV's.
Whilst BMW are at it they can stop making the cabrio M3 and M6 too.
