M3/M4 CAR Magazine: BMW CANCELING E92 M3 CSL

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
This is of course music to my ears. I think KERS will be the key in the next generation M-models.

To bad they had to announce the halt of all the good stuff at the same time (CSL, Z8, Z4M), that made the whole thing seem a bit rushed/desperate.

So there won´t be a replacement to the actual Z4 M?, No E89 Z4 M?.

Guys ...

BMW sells 1.3 million BMW branded cars per year.

How many BMW buyers are racing enthusiasts?

How many of you "The dreamers" have bought new BMW vehicle?

Racing enthusiasts are an extincting species ... Most of BMW buyers are very satisfied with M cars.

Image car .. .yes, it's important WHEN YOU NEED IT. Right now it's not a right time for such a super-sports car.
CS 4dr GT - a new BMW flagship - enhancing sporty-luxury image. Luxury - that's now more important from BMW - since sporty image strong as a rock.

Nobody reacted on my comment on street-legal M3 GTR. Will this count for you?

*******

Any way ... Let's say ... to end this endless debate: BMW have no money for CSL. They are in deep sh.t, and need money - so they need cars that bring money to house. No money = bad image. No M1 or CSL or GTR can save your image if you go into bankrupt.

I thought bmw were year on year selling more cars, and making class leading profits per vehicle sold, so how come they are in financial trouble? And what makes BMW think they can enhance their luxury image by building trucks? Luxury and trucks dont exactly come hand in hand!

Maybe porsche/VAG can buy BMW :D

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
