X3/X4 BMW X3 (G01) - Spy Pics & Info

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3.
its been a decade that bmw is doing the cost cutting and maximise their profit in the most cheapest manner possible way

It looks better than this rendering. Actually the best looking BMW SUV to date. A few more days...

That's big call considering how attractive the last generation X5 was. I really hope you're right. The spy pic front end photos are not promising.

I want the M X340i to be a winner and take the fight to the SQ5 and GLC43 and Macan in style and performance. That way I can save some $$ and not end up in the overpriced Macan.

If it's really the best looking SUV from BMW....without a doubt above all these.
An no need to even mention F pace and Evoque, these are no players in this game....you're forgetting the Velar BTW. But not that it matters (it's more of an X5 competitor anyways probably)

BTW, @bmwblog did you also see the new X5 or X7? And if so, how do they compare to the new X3?

Have not seen the X5 or X7, but I heard plenty about them. They will be a step up, for sure, in all categories. The X3 will give us an idea of their design. So we heard.

Can't really see where the X3 places among its competitors, will know more next week after the live presentation.

Not really. To some it is a symptom of the BMW they know and love losing its way. Following, no longer leading.

The X3 like the 1er,3er and 5er is available in entry format as they available to fleet and government services. But popular with entry customers and retirees.
Therefore least complex maintenance choices are preferred as it is easier to remove and replace bulbs. However privately, these vehicles are always equipped with the LED option when specified.
Mercedes also offer halogen as standard because they have a customer base that do not rely on options of complexity.

Probably expect leaks this weekend. The packs have been sent. One last picture.

I thought that led lights had a life span that is 10 to 20 times longer than normal bulbs, especially when they are put on and off again frequently. So i guess that service centers benefit from the fact that customers have to come in sooner to replace the bulbs.

Surprisingly some today change their own bulb and sometimes carry out basic forms of maintenance especially if they are mechanically minded. You would be surprised how many women do this especially in Germany.
They are not all feminists who should wear white to blend in with the kitchen appliances.:p

The tyre profile on this mule is utterly ridiculous.

I forgot you own the current X3?
Are you considering the G01? The new M Sport packet is off the wall really gives hints to full bruiser X3M as does all M Sport Packets.

The G01 will only be an option if BMW UK finally brings 4 cylinder petrols to the UK. If not, I will replace the F25 with a G31 or the new Q5.

I would be happy to go M Sport this time but only if there is freedom to match it with any inlays and dash colour. BMW UK have been overly aggressive in pushing Msport. It was nearly impossible for me to find an xLine. Almost all cars on the forecourt were Msport with 20 or 21 inch alloys which produce a jarring ride on poor roads with even the tiniest imperfection communicated too noticeably - basically a rather unsettled ride.

Ranting aside. Options on my wish list are air suspension or Adaptive drive(the XC60, Q5 and GLC have it), nappa leather and sliding rear bench.

This time I want to factory order a car to keep 4 years+.

I agree. LEDs last much much longer and they are way cheaper in price these days. Besides halogens look cheap in this day and age. If its a luxury car then it should look like one, even at night. I recently bought a GMC Sierra (not Denali) pickup truck for work and it came with all LEDs throughout(inside and out) the car including headlamps.

I am a BMW guy who owns 6 BMWs and three of them are M badged. I think BMW, MB and Audi need to step up the game and stop milking customers for things they call luxury items, when they are not anymore. Like they milked customers for bluetooth for the longest time. This is the voice of customers and its year 2017. The 90s are calling, they want their halogens back.

And China will receive and manufacture the first ever X3Li.
Not forgetting production in Roslyn ,South Africa.
