X3/X4 BMW X3 G01 LCi leaked

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. Now in its fourth generation, BMW markets the car as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line luxury vehicles. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3, trading its practicality with a sloping rear roof which offers a sportier styling. BMW has indicated 2025 will be the X4's final model year.

Besides the very successful G30 LCI, just about EVERY new BMW exterior design & styling exercise has been disappointing to me. This G01 LCI is no different - besides the welcome improvement in interior aesthetics, there's no tangible progress in the looks department. As an old, long-standing BMW aficionado, all I see is ever greater expense yet diminished desirability from BMW.

This summarizes quite well how I feel about BMW. I really like the G20 3er, G30 5er and the X5. But beyond those right now I just dislike what the brand is producing. Can't stand the new 4er design at all, nor all the weird lines they keep adding to what were decent designs across the portfolio. This X3 is a very good example.

Not sure the future looks any brighter, with things like the splitted headlights coming. BMW is almo messing some of the great products of a few years ago, as the new i4 interior proves.

So yep, not sure how this will all end up, in a time when the entire industry is under a major shake up. But I would not say BMW is amont the best positioned brands here.

Seen all the X3's and X4's earlier today. In person it's a really successful update. Looks much edgier, wider (Especially X3M on the M3/M4 wheels. The updates add the right balance of sharpness to the surfaces. It's sculpture is well honed as well as the XM's Aerodynamics.
Those tyres really stick out. A previous personal hate on the outgoing X3M was that it looked more M40+. Configured a São Paulo yellow X3M for killing time. Looks fantastic.

This video shows the details in all close-up glory.

Love the front lights. The rears are just too much.

The current generation X3 is such a perfectly rounded package. While lacking design flair, particularly in the interior, its an exceedingly well built, solid, refined, spacious and reliable work horse. We love ours.

I was going to sell our M40i when the Taycan CT arrives in March, but I've decided to just keep it and see how things go since it's just so good at what it does.

A neighbour of mine has bought a Brooklyn Grey X3 20i. What a facelift! From a distance you could mistake it for an X3 M40i or X3M. The new colour and styling works wonders!

The only criticism I have is that BMW are diluting the M brand. M-mirrors are now available on the M40i and squarish exhausts are no longer exclusive to M40 models. Basically, if you lines up a bunch of d-badged LCI and pre-LCI models, your average person would be confused about the hierarchy of which car has the more powerful engines.

Seeing a lot of the LCI much much better looking than preLCI….the front end especially, well executed.

The front is neither an improvement nor regression for me.

The rear lights are horrible. Absolutely trying way too hard!

And Brooklyn Grey, which I saw on the M40i, looks atrocious.

Still it's a fantastic vehicle underneath, the interior improvements are probably worthwhile and it remains as solid as a brick shithouse.

They look fresh and modern on the road in real life. Not so much in pics, but pretty great in the flesh. Definitely better than before.
And like blue, grey is always nice on a BMW. Brooklyn Grey is a sweet color.

Yeah I saw a Brooklyn Grey X3 M40i in the metal. Both the rear lights and colour were terrible.

I have seen Brooklyn Grey a few times and I just dont like it in direct sunlight. It looks much better when overcast. A colour for Europe, not down under. ?

Haha yeah, I have been surrounded by a thick fog for two days already. It's supposed to clear a bit tomorrow, but in this weather you can't even see a car in Brooklyn Grey, LOL. You only see the wheels and lights :D

Spectacular, imo. I love the facelift of the M. It's so much better than before, and that new front bumper is wild (in a good way). I understand why you don't like the color @Mr. Mercedes, it's a bit 'VAG' somehow ;)
