X1 BMW X1 Concept: Official pics and info.

The BMW X1 is a line of cars produced by BMW since 2009. A subcompact luxury crossover class, the first-generation X1 was based on the E90 3 Series and offered rear-wheel drive layout as standard. The second-generation X1 marked the switch to a front-wheel-drive-based layout using the UKL2 platform shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman.
Re: Official pics and info: X1 Concept

In the first page, the reaction is extremely positive. I don't expect that to stay for long when the usual suspects join the conversation. I could be wrong though :D

Re: Official pics and info: X1 Concept

Bad idea to rip the 7ers front end for a low end SUV. Rear looks good, but the rear light is again a rip off the of 3er face lift. Guess BMW is taking a page out from the Audi's design book.

Glad you mentioned the 7-Series front end so I don't have to. Very unfortunate. BMW's stylist aren't able to deal with the front end pedestrian regulations as well as others it seems. That said I like the rest of it for the most part. The funky side creases make it look very youthful and athletic. Any interior shots?

Re: Official pics and info: X1 Concept

There was a few minutes older thread about the leak (although it had no answers at all)...:eusa_doh:

Anyway i have merged the two threads into one.:usa7uh:

Apart from a rather short front overhang, I think the side profile looks fabulous. Finally, a small SUV BMW can be proud of.

Re: Official pics and info: X1 Concept

Not bad I think. I like most of it. The front has obvious 7er cues but they don't bother me. Lot of nice lines like klier said. Some small details that could've been better IMO but overall it's a good concept.

As usual, it's a punch in your face

Punch in your face? LMAO, maybe Bangle can use that as a new slogan for BMW design. "A BMW always has to be dynamically stunning, like a hard punch in your face!". :D

Re: Official pics and info: X1 Concept

Hmm, a punch in your face ...ha ha. But this time I think this concept is quite subtle.

It is interesting the Merc's Fascination Concept exploits similar ideas ...but creates quite a different impression.

Its not an ugly car but for me this car is not intresting. I rather see other models from BMW.

I am afraid to say this... but I think Im in love... a better interpretation of the Nissan Quashqai... I think...:usa7uh:

I 'm neutral towards this car. It's not stunning but not a let down either.

I have no doubt that it will sell well especially if they use the 1.6 lt Turbo engine.

amazing looking car... BUT not the front I would choose. I don't think it's smart to take he 7 series front. What's wrong with a nice new interpetation of the 1 series coupé

I'm loving it! :icondrool The side profile, the rear especially and that aggressive front. Yeah, it does resemble new 7er (the front), but at least looks aggressive, muscular and 100000000000000000 better than that ugly X3.

I'd say - bingo!:eusa_clap

:t-cheers:

A very good job BMW :eusa_clap
I'm surprised for the better. It looks so funky and sweet.

The only thing slightly bothering me is the front ed which resembles the 7er too much IMO.

THIS CAR WILL SELL LIKE HOT COKIES :icondrool

Let's just hope that this in no way represent what we can expect from the new 1-series.

LOVING IT! :icondrool

But I have a few issues with the front end. Same problem as with the 7-er.

Great to see boldness and flame surfacing back!!! This increases my anticipation for the Z4. Very sexy lines stretching across the car, I didn't expect this it all. Rear end looks interesting although it will take me some time to fully warm up to the origami rear end.

Once again BMW messed up with the front end. It just doesn't look harmonic at all, especially the bumper treatment. Made exactly the same mistakes they did with the 7er. Oh btw, from this angle the car looks like a raised F01.

So how production ready is it? Just like with previous BMW production ready concept this is the production car minus the colour the rims right???

First impression:

Not as ugly as X3, but not as cool as X5 or X6.

Looks little to japanese if you ask me. But I do like the rear.

Amen to that. The cars worst angle for sure. Just like the Q5... Looks horrible in the front.
