LOL I was only joking with the water thing :D the truth is, its running on environment friendly rocket fuel.

Dr Dunkel, yeah you're right. 400 hp in a car with a weight of less than 1300 kg would be so cool  What was the car you drove btw?

Stripped out Volvo 245 sporting a heavily tuned T5 engine. Handling? No, I don't think so... Performance? Ask the guy in the Porsche.

Hello Community!!

J_M some crap study engine with hydrogen power? Sounds almost impossible, because right now they can't even get 250 hp out of the 760h V12....

The current problem with H2 powered engines is, that they also have to run on gasoline. Therefore they are not optimised on H2. If they were, they could easily reach 100HP per liter. And if the deep frozen H2 could be injected at around -250°C into the cylinder the thermic cycle would be even better...
Maybe its just a coincidence they recently introduced a new H2 tank with optimised shape and weight? :t-hands:

Nevertheless I expect the new concept to be stunning concidering the pictures and the info Scott and EnI gave us
-> Can´t wait for tomorrow... :D

I believe that BMW said that with cryogenic injection or something like that they can reach the 100 hp/l.

Cryogenic Injection is the injection of fluid H2.
But I thought that even without that they could reach high HP/l by raising the compression since H2 is less self-inlaming than gasoline.:eusa_thin
Tomorrow we´ll know

- I very much like your avatar! :usa7uh:

What hor exactly is the car going to be presented?. I´m toalking in European hour.

my engine predict: twin turbo charged diesel, with an assistance of a small e-motor

jap well, if its a "clean" diesel it should be enaugh for the moment

visionary would be for me, an emotor at each wheel and an aditional hydro engine which is loading the batteries on longer trips,...but gina should go to production - right ?

Do you really think this is visionary enough? :D;)

Oh boy, we really are going to get a Hydrogen study tomorrow...it's the way of the future....when all oil is gone...So the shell is a study for the new Z8, and the engine will be something weird.

I would like to know this too!!!!
What hour and what website..

didn't bmw say that hydrogen is 20 years away from commercial use - so why present a hydro engine if 20 years are lying ahead of its introduction
and only god knows whats going to happen in 20 years, maybe we will find a way to transform free energy(thats proven to be in the air) ... but then none of the saudis would actually make money with us, and they would also need a vw golf to drive from A to B...

Sorry but you are not getting exclusive from me (as some PM's are asking)
You only have a few or so hours to go ... It's going to be a very big day in Munich today , as today's set-ups , video and audio tests are all set for this morning, as is the caterers with a very early start feeding the hordes that are descending tomorrow.

Aswell as the concept there is also the new Museum to look forward to And I hope you like the layout and concept of the new BMW Museum, A lot of great cars from design concepts to classics that defined the BMW brand , ideally and individually spaced out ( Not as Crowded together as in the Mercedes-Benz museum) All we need now is a BMW theme park although you could probably count some of the simulators as such , But maybe a theme park is too far.
