If this car had a straight greenhouse, it would look much much better.
Even a Golf R has one. The rising belt line is also unflattering on the X6 and makes it look very rear heavy.

Any quality difference between the 1-Series and rivals is less sinful than it's shocking equipment levels. If you don't buy the shadow edition you have to option cruise control. I'm aware that options have always been part of the game for premium brands but the 1-Series has been at the bottom with no extra toys in an M140i over a 118i.

This is all the...

Plenty of new features on the 2019 1 Series.

I like the M-version. Front and rear looks like a X2 and sideprofile somehow reminds me of X2 and Ford Fiesta ST.
If its anything close to a Fiesta ST to drive then they have one awesome driving machine. Perhaps I'm going back to BMW and a M135i when its time for a new car again.

Underwhelming is the max I can say about this car. At least 7er and X7, were polarizing in the beginning, but this car is really disappointing.

Overall, a good car, although the exterior is a bit bulky with the addition of the FAAR platform. Inside, there is a big step forward compared to the F20 generation, but I would have wanted to see more leather choices and trim options. For now, you can only choose either leather upholstery in Black or Magma Red colours, while the trims are a bit too un-BMW. The A-Class still offers some more leather and trim options to pick from (leather in various colours, including Beige and something similar to Cognac, trim like open-pore wood or metal). I really expect BMW to improve this aspect with a future update programe.

I like it to. But at the same time you sort of highlite my issue.
Fwd cars can be fun and even awd (fwd based).

Personally I want a manual and not awd. Fwd with lsd.
Could live with awd and automatic but it drives the price up.
So a focus st vs the M135i... not apples to apples of course.
Big plus for me, the ford has a classic analog tachometer.
Should be quite alot cheaper if I spec what I want though the bimmer having more power and torque, automatic and awd.
Will be interesting to see prices but...

Maybe a M-Sport 125i ~230 PS, optional lsd and a manual...
Not holding my breath though.
