Looking just like a 5erGT Jr. ... which is exactly what it's meant to be.

Most interesting thing will be whether it will debut before or after the 3er sedan ? (remember, the 5er GT came out before 5er sedan).

I cannot imagine the amount of work CM will have to do to sell this. :D

Actually it could be described as a new level of luxury in the Premium entry class with the class leading sporting dynamics of a 3er.

The interior will offer something similar to the 5er GT , showcasing a roomy cabin (thanks to the China planned F30 3er Li Platform) and a lounge like environment.
Currently , there is no such concept like this within the Premium Entry class. You have Coupe's and Sportback's , but nothing like this.

What customers like about the 5er Gran Turismo is that it is not a Variant , it has it's own identity and stands out from the regular 5er.
3er Gran Turismo will follow the exact path.
With the 5er Gran Turismo the greater majority of customers never had a BMW before and are new to the brand , it is hoped 3er Gran Turismo will do the exact same.

Because the 2.0 Twin Power Turbo four and Twin Turbo diesel are candidates for this car it should do very well , especially for someone who wants more flexibility and individuality with their luxury.

You will see the 3er Gran Turismo in the near future just as you first saw the 5er Gran Turismo... As a Concept Car.

Oh yeah, and all this stupid teasing and stripteasing will start over all again. Can't wait :eusa_doh:

What is it with people demanding this sh*t? If I want to sit in a lounge I head over to the next bar, club, hotel whatever. What I want is a proper driver's car. Period.

Yes.

The feedback is very positive on 5er GT from what I heard - especially in Europe. Yet the European markets lust for downsized GT models. Being that smaller GTs based on 3er & 1er, or a 5er GT with smaller (especially diesel) engines.

Both smaller GTs are coming (also with small-er diesel engines), while BMW is also considering to offer 520d GT as a fleet model only (city taxis & shuttles). Probably together with LCI introduction.

A friend from the UK or indeed any other country sends me scans or clippings of magazines that portray a BMW whether past , present or future.

Today I have been sent some examples of the BMW 4er , or as it will be known as the BMW 3er Gran Turismo. Because in China for example - 4 by itself is considered unlucky. Given that China will be a key market for the Gran Turismo 3er, and it could also be built there alongside the China Market only 3er Li Longwheelbase Sedan which the 3er GT shares a platform with.

Given that the 5er Gran Turismo preceded the 5er Sedan in production and concept , this will not happen with the 3er.
Again like the 5er , The 3er Gran Turismo will appear as a "Pre-Vision Concept" although the 5er GT in production form was seen before the new
5er. For the Concept you will see the 3er GT Concept before the new 3er.

The rendering concentrates on the final exact shape but some details are exaggerated especially the bluntness of the rear. It is bit more streamlined dynamic looking and less bulkier than the (6er) lights on the render.
The headlights I can say are very close to the finished car. Given that the BMW signature headlight shape is now being immitated left, right and center.
It is only right that BMW designers seek to add new interpretations to maintain a single identity.

The 3er Coupe also uses the same formula to add increased sportiness to the front of the car. As does the upcoming new BMW 1er Sporthatch.

I have a question and this is something that has been on my mind for a while.

When the 5er GT was introduced, the current 5er had not been released. It seems that BMW may do the same thing with the 3er GT, if I am not mistaken. If that is the case, what is the relationship, with respect to design, of the GT and the regular model?

I remember seeing the 5er GT and thinking that it looked great in the front and if the next 5er looked like that it would be great. I like the current 5er a lot, but it does not look the same.

What I understood from Scott's post preceding yours is that:

1st: 3er GT 'Vision Concept' will be shown (similar to the 5er GT Vision Concept which was a near production-ready concept)

2nd: Production version of the 3er will be unveiled.

3rd: Production version of the 3er GT will be unveiled.

As for the similarities in design. Well, I guess you could draw some similarities between the 5er GT and the regular 5er, but they both seem to have very different 'personalities' when it comes to their design. I imagine the same for the 3er -vs- 3er GT. The 5er had traditional shaped headlights, while the 5er GT had the up-swept angry-look shape, ...seems like the same will occur for the 3er and 3er GT respectively. Rear-end will most likely also share similar differences present with the 5er sedan and GT.

Pretty much for the 3er GT just imagine a shrunken down 5er GT. For the 3er sedan, a mix of the current E90's hunkered-down front-end while the rest of the car will be a shortened F10 5er.

IMO of course. :)
