wtf isn't that to late? i think there was 8 months between the F10 and w212..
8 months after W213 should be august as it was shown in january...which means NOW..or ok fine paris then thats like 2 weeks away.. but they are adding another 5-6 months to it?
Is it delayed or is this according to plans?

I can't tell you why but there is a delay. It remember 'someone' told us the 5er was a highlight because of the 100 years BMW and to be introduced in 2016.

I have read somewher an update of the engines is near. This may cause the delay.

Detroit is the lead event in order to kick start US sales even though the last remaining F10 sales are in particular healthy. So emphasis on the 530i, 540i for that market.
But think of Geneva as the actual premiere with the core selling models such as 520d etc.

But in the next few weeks there will be previews around Europe.
Geneva will have a World Premiere of a specific 5er Sedan model. But not the one you are thinking of.

You don't have any say in this cars release anymore..haha

Back to sunroofs, maybe this is now off topic but just for interest Mercedes and BMW both made sunroofs famous in the 70's when they had electric sliding roofs as options on the S-class and BMW had on the E9 coupe. My parents had a 1975 W116 350SE with an electric sliding roof and in those days it was the WOW thing in a car.
