It won't be unveiled by saturday, there is still too much camo on the prototype, I would say we will have to wait another 2 or 3 months with some leaks or more revealing spy shot during that time.

I feel that bmw will go with a surprise revealing for the new 5 because we are getting closer and closer to the date which scott had stated (9-june) and there is nothing till now !!!

I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. BMW hasn't mentioned anything about a launch/unveiling. They are not going to just launch it without hyping said launch event to high heavens first.

How was it at the F01?
I can't remember me that I have read anything about the upcoming F01 revealing.
I was absolute surprised when I have seen the official pics. And I have not read less than today. If there had been an announcement I'm sure I had noticed it.

The reason would be that you really aren't anything at BMW and has little to no insight.

The reason, @rs271, would be the same reason he's been wrong on many other details in the past. He enjoys the inflated status being an "insider" gives him to the point that he just cannot admit when he doesn't know something. So he'd rather guess and say "within 40 days" than simply say "I don't know".

Nobody is forcing him to reveal anything. He chooses to answer these questions, just like he chose to reveal himself as working for BMW.

Anyway, the deadline isn't until this Saturday, so we shall see.

I'm a BMW fan so the idea of having an insider revealing advance info is very appealing, so I've no reason to attack Scott whatsoever. But Scott was found out long ago to be a charlatan.


As for the 5 Series, he could have just said "I don't know" when asked when it would be revealed. But he didn't. He very specifically said "within 40 days".

We'll see. It could still be released before Saturday, so this is all a bit premature.
