2 Series BMW 2er Gran Coupe Speculation

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.
So this really is a dead issue?

Well there are prototypes out there like this one: http://jalopnik.com/what-is-this-mysterious-bmw-2-series-prototype-doing-in-1618424074

These look like the prototypes for the 4er and 6er Gran Coupes. Why hide/camo the rear windows and bodywork if there are no changes being made there.

We live in hope! Though that recent news about FWD and 2017 is disheartening.

This is looking dead. This would have been my first BMW. The rest no longer interest me. I was 6 months too late to buy a new 135i, and they will be too old when I'm ready for my next car in 6 years.

As long as it's:
  • not vapourware
  • not a protracted Merteazus Benzzzz style release

As long as power is sent to the correct wheels - that's the only thing that matters to me.

I've already have an FWD sedan that does its job perfectly. It is comfortable enough and I can get it to oversteer.

Unless this new entry level is a proper BMW to drive, then I will have absolutely no interest in it, apart from purely academic. Just like the A3 sedan or the CLA. They are nice to look at, they are descent cars to own, but they are not for me.

Still nothing? Beating a dead horse? It's either this BMW or a pristine 135i coupe in 5 years. The latter is unlikely since changing a light bulb requires outside help (it's okay, I'll make the martinis for the help).

if there is a 1 series sedan i think this is pretty much dead. would've been a nice car but the GC would probably push it up towards F30 prices (if it doesn't they won't make it), putting it in direct competition with the 3series, soemthing that BMW would avoid.

I seen that, at first I thought it was the next 5er Gran Turismo. It has a similar front end.

But yes the Gran Turismo family is planned to expand as will the 4er which is underway on an Active Tourer variant but is more of coupe esque 5dr Shooting Brake rather than a full van. And before the comments begin it will retain RWD.

Good news for the RWD

The front end remains me the one of this mysterious concept in 2009
