Re: BMW 1er Coupé/Convertible Picture Thread

My thoughts exactly. Thanks but no thanks BMW, I'd rather spend the $35K on a G37. :t-cheers:

I reckon the 135i has more exciting drive (read the Autocar comparison) than both 335i and G37. If you are addicted to size or dont like the design then 335i or G37 is a better choice but if you are into driving experience and handling then 135i is for you.
BTW its amazing how people can judge a car they havent driven yet. :D

No, it's not the size that I'm addicted to. I'm addicted to paying for stuff that's worth it and is practical. If this car was 30K, I wouldn't complain, because it would be worth it at that point. Seeing this car's proportions and the way I use my own personal car, this car isn't worth 35K because it won't be practical. For the amount of money I'd pay for this, I can get something that might not be AS exciting to drive but will be good enough and at least will be practical.

Now, if I'm really into hardcore driving aesthetics, why would I waste my money on this 135? Hell, I'd pay 12K for a RX-7, 2K for rollcage, 7K for HKS or Greddy turbo/engine upgrades and another 3K for chassis/suspension upgrades and smoke most cars on track for $24K, at the same time, it will be a little less practical than this 135. Or I could just get a used 2002 M3 with around 70k miles for $23K. Anyone who considers this 135i a toy has too much money.

And no, I haven't judged the car, I've only judged it's proportions, which isn't that hard to judge IMO. Just by looking at the pics I can pretty much tell that the rear seats are pretty much useless for me. I'm 5"10 but a lot of my friends are over 6ft tall, they definitely wouldn't be too comfortable in the back seats. :t-cheers:

LoL, RX7 and rollcage, thats a little too extreme for me. I want a nice driving experience but I want some practicality, realibilty and luxury left but I would gladly pay for a M3 CSL or a GT3 as a second car :D

And the size thing, practicality was included when I mentioned size. So the size thing does matter in this case for you ;)

I cant speak for prices in US but in Sweden I would gladly buy a 135i over 335i becuase its a better price than a 335i, also M-package and Brembo brakes and new diff are included in 135i which its not for 335i. I currently drive a 1-serie and I dont need a larger car and yes I do transport two adults in the backseat of my Hatchback. I havent compared the backseat in my car with the new Coupé so I cant tell the differences but it works in my car.

I really like the 1er in Sparkling Graphite. M Package is not a must for me. But it would look much better if it had shadowline, 1 inch greater wheels and chromed kidneys.

I found yesterday 3 wallpapers:

Re: BMW 1er Coupé/Convertible Picture Thread

A 300-hp direct-injection twin-turbo BMW with near 50/50 weight distribution, adaptive auto-leveling Xenons with cornering lights, brake drying, soft-stop, hill-start assist, 6-piston Brembos, tire pressure monitor, dual-stage adaptive brake lights, smart alternator control, headlight washers, electronic brake differential, and included 4-yr maintenance for $30K? Sorry, that's not going to happen. And some of that stuff you won't get on the G37 at that price. You might get a smidgen more rear legroom, but you'll lose about 3" in headroom, 2" of shoulder room and almost half the trunk space compared to the 135i.

Bigger pics anyone?

Well put. And add the tuning potential to the list. I have no idea what cuckoo land people are from when they say $35K is too expensive for this car.

135i is perfect base for smart tuning IMO..potential is almost unlimited(ofcourse, bunch of money is required:cool: )..And about price tag of standard car..Problem is that in my county(Croatia) this very car doesn´t cost $35K but 50+ K euros atleast..and that makes it around 80-90 percent more expensive(damn taxes)

Re: BMW 1er Coupé/Convertible Picture Thread

Re: BMW 1er Coupé/Convertible Picture Thread

LOL, unfortunately I've never been to Hamburg.

Hamburg is definitely one of my favourites cities in germany - not even because of the Reeperbahn! It's just a great place to stay, and the peope in Hamburg are one of the most friendly and obliging ones. :t-cheers:
