1 Series No Space for Boredom - The BMW 1er Gran Turismo

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
So maybe you all dislike the the FWD BMW MPV, but overall it is the best looking one. If design is about the entire outcome of silhoutte, proportion and detail, then you truly are waisting your time, because for me very few cars are perfect, in fact I can't even think of one that is 100% perfect (from current cars available on the market new). To be concrete, only the Z4 is an almost perfect looking car, no other current BMW IMO, not even the M6 GC. It does look awkward from some angles.

By no means do I find the 1er GT ugly. Funny how all BMW fan have the right and know what is a right BMW, but me not.

"BMW M3/M4 must have a V6. Period." :finger:

But BMW needs its own A/B-class.

And it looks good for an MPV.

BMW certainly didn't invent the next big thing after pizza and beer, but their idea of something useful yet loathed by many car enthusiasts, the MPV, doesn't look as bad as most. Sure, it's nowhere near the proportions of the 3er, but shouldn't it have a form follows function design?

I believe that F.A.S.T. was a concept of an idea that was transformed into the GT series of models, be it GranTourismo or GranCoupe.

The FAST is BMWs idea for a new compact crossover. It mixes SAV design solidivity , with the space of an MPV in the outline of a raised Touring like Coupe.
A real Swiss Army knife concept with extensive versatility and flexibility to offer customers multiple vehicle concepts in one car.

I'm sure we'll (might?) get that, but now it is quite difficult to understand the concept/idea. Wasn't the 3/5er GT or X4/6 for that?

But will it be FWD or RWD based?

Thats cool and all, but when is the convertible wagon coming? WHY WONT BMW ADDRESS MY DEMANDS!!!!!!!! :inpain:

^ ^ A CC Touring......shooting brake!! With folding hardtop. Surely that must be a workable niche??

Huh... I guess I will have to wait and see. Maybe it will speak to me, maybe it won't. Regardless, I have to wonder though if this is yet another vehicle that will never make it to the US. The 1er hatch speaks to be, but BMW keeps saying there aren't enough of me in the US to make that worthwhile.

Regardless, I can see the 1er GT doing well in the US, as a second vehicle in non-urban environments, and maybe a primary vehicle for some in dense urban environments.
