I'm not sure if I like previous one the most or the on before that:

I remember being in rapture when the V12 750iL appeared in 1988. It was also the first car with xenon lights in the U.S. too. Really something special. Also, during this generation you could actually get the 735i with a stick shift! Imagine that today.

The fastest car speed i've ever felt was in the backseat of the car you posted, Marcus; my gf's brother hit it 272km/h...

It had 285 tires and 20" BBS rims... Great car, for sure, but still the E38 was my fav...

:t-cheers:

Yeah that is pretty fast. A friend of my uncle had one of those manual 735is. I just couldn't get over how the car rode.

Either way I loved those cars compared to the current model.

yep yep that E38 is a dream.. such a sleek car.. a diffrent kind of approach to the segment..
i hope they go back to this with the new one..a sleek.. luxury cruiser..
it doesent need to offer more space, comfort and gadgets than the S..
just make it sleek and something diffrent..

okay the existing 7er is diffrent.. but in a totally wrong way..lol

Nice to see MB still OWNS this segment. :D

I'm sure they'll offer up a thorough upgrade of the S (technologically) when the 7-series hits the streets.

You could get the next generation 728i and 730i with a 5-speed too.

Really, interesting. We didn't get those smaller engined models here in the U.S. and by the time the next model came around in 1995 the I6s were gone from the U.S. market 7-Series models.
