Pre-F01 7 Series, the S Class was easily best in class. I now think the F01 has taken that mantle, a mantle it is sure to lose when the next (W222?) S Class is released.

100% no. Maybe for the W222. W221 is old and beaten by the 7er. That S-class is King thing is in your head because it has pretty much always been like that. Until the F01

Lol...I understand that BMW's new range of engines are more powerful. I also understand that the design is newer then the S-class. Lastly I understand that the interior is fresh and different.

BUT...The S-Class is still number 1.

1. In Sophistication
1. In Recognition
1. In Safety
1. In Technology (Probably)

And there is one thing that the 7 series cannot do (of course they have the BS reasons of "why not")....and that is the German Super Power....

Beaten in what? The S-Class is by far the segment leader. The 7er doesn't even come in limo form and lacks the customisation options for the really demanding customers. In that sense the S-Class is unparalleled by any other car in the segment.

Have you ever bothered to research some of the serious customisation options within BMW Individual, you can practically turn the 7 Series into a mobile office... And if you are talking about that tacky Mercedes Benz Pullman, fail...

You can hardly talk about biased naricissim towards a brand. For a matter of concern the 3 Series and the C Class are as even as ever. The new 5 Series has had no tests so that is a rhetoric and because we don't, as you plainly do, see the W221 as the be all, and the end all, we, and I quote, "never give in". Practise that, what you bloody well breach.

The biggest edge the A8 and S have over the 7-Series is exclusivty. BMW are engaging in heavy component whoring as they've blessed the 5-Series with the same interior as the 7-Series.

That's of course your own opinion and not a fact. If you ask others they probably not going to agree with you. Some people would say A8 looks too much like A4/A6 and therefore not as exclusive as the bimmer/MB.
