Hot! Betty's New BMW M4 Coupe

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
My dealer has a frozen red M4 with performance parts and ceramic brakes for sale. Looks pretty bad ass if you ask me. Frozen paint never an option for you?

Congrats Betty, the car looks great in this color combo, and it is the LCI version as well. The only thing missing, I think, is the front lip. You are right about the exhaust sound, I heard a M3 competition ripping it down the street and it is very loud, and it sounds very metallic too...(if that is the way to describe it).

Congrats Betty, this a BMW M4 done right. I came that close to going the M4 route as well. I'm sure we will see your driving impressions very soon!

Thanks for all the nice comments. Finally got time to reply to the questions.

Manny enjoyable and safe miles Betty!

Do you still have your R8? Would be interesting how you compare the two as longer term ownership propositions once you've had this for a while.

Yeah, still got the R8.

Well done my friend, the thing I'm most curious about, is your opinion on the combination of that rubber on these wheels... with our roads?

Though.. you did pick some nice roads to stretch its legs on... Peak district?

I've done about 600 miles now on all types of roads, and I didn't notice the ride being that harsh actually. It's definitely less harsh than the M2 on 19" wheels. But the M4 does have adaptive suspension where as the M2 is passive. I think both cars have the suspension bolted directly to the body (or something like that. I have no technical knowledge whatsoever).

Peak District? Close. It's on the A640 between Oldham and Huddersfield, so just north of the Peak District in the Pennines.

Stunning car Betty congrats. Once 2000km is come up then it's flat foot all the way! Did you sell your M2 or R8?

Still have the R8. Traded in the M2. That was always the plan.

Congratulations Betty - many happy, safe and thrilling miles. Show us a pic of the interior please. :)

And of course, here comes the obligatory...

"Why, you lucky bastard!"

Cheers Martin. I'll get a photo of the interior asap and post it.

Congratulation Betty! Really nice car and specification - the LCI treatment really modernises the car IMO - just what was needed to remain the king. Where were those pictures taken?

A640 just west of Huddersfield.

Congrats Betty be safe and Enjoy the Monster.. A quick question seeing as you also live in the UK do you mange to drive these cars you have at high speeds and if i may ask where??

I actually live in Holland, and I'm 15 minutes from the German border (derestricted autobahn) and about 75 minutes from the Nurburgring. I'm British and spend half my time in the UK though.

Yesterday I saw phoneix Yellow (name?) M3 E46. Is that the same as yours Betty?

Phoenix Yellow was a nice colour and when I ordered my E46 M3 in 2002, I initially specced it in that colour before changing it to Titanium Silver. Austin Yellow is quite similar to Phoenix Yellow but it's a more subtle shade of yellow.

I think matt looks good only on a certain type of car, and I'm not sure it isn't a fad. Not to mention the issues with cleaning them.

I almost ordered the front splitter and front corners in carbon, but I decided to wait as I can always get them a bit later down the line. I'll post photos of the carbon diffuser when I can.

Congratulations!

Why not a stick this time around (your E90 was a stick,no?)?

I had an E92 M3 Coupe, and that was M DCT, as was my M2 Coupe. I'll always go for the dual-clutch option on these cars. The R8 is manual however, as I think it suits it better.

Congratz man, if i am right you were also considering an M2 ?

I owned an M2 until Monday. Had it for seven months.

A few more pics, this time with the M Performance exhaust and carbon tips, and the carbon diffuser.

The exhaust sounds like God clearing his throat.

Stunning purchase Betty! The 666M wheels in black work a lot better than I had expected, great choice.

Granted you have owned a solid number of M cars before, what made you go with the M4 over its MB, Audi, Jag competitors?

I'm just a huge fan of the M3 Coupe (I'll never fully get used to calling it an M4) and have been since I was a teenager. Having owned an E46 M3 and an E92 M3 I wanted to keep up the tradition and get the F82 M4.

Despite being a huge BMW fan in general, I do appreciate Audi and MB products too, but in this particular segment there's only one choice for me, and that's the M4 Coupe. I just think my car is stunning. I can't remember even being this happy when I got my R8.

Id really like to see the 666M in black. When I first saw the 666M in silver in photos I didn't like them, however when I saw them in the flesh, they became my new favourite (current) M wheel.

Not usually a fan of black wheels, wonder if yours would have the same effect.

I understand they're quite similar to the AMG (Line) wheels from Mercedes in that they have silver/grey fronts and black inside.

Ditto, and I didn't like it orang...I mean, "copper" as a shown on the GTS. It works well in black especially as a contrast to this exterior paint and other accoutrement.

Yeah, it's weird. Like an optical illusion. They're exactly the same as the standard CP wheels, but instead of the "insides" of the rims being grey, they're black. But on both wheels they have a silver face. Yet the black wheels look anthracite on the front.

Amazing! Austin yellow is as hot as phoenix yellow was on the E46. I would have chosen the same.

Enjoy the car but be careful in the wet and keep traction control on :D

Congratulations! Every time I see that color it makes me sit up and take notice. I am probably not bold enough to live with it on a daily basis but it certainly is good looking.
