Hot! Betty's New BMW M4 Coupe

My M4 has been having a detail over the last two days. Machine polished and a GTechniq Crystal Serum ceramic coating applied. I'm very happy with the results.

@martinbo I still haven't got round to taking some decent photos of the interior, but I will try very soon.

That looks f%^king amazing Matt. :icondrool

Congrats again. Lucky bugger. #menotjealous

Thanks Martin. I'm extremely happy with it. I can't remember even being this happy when I got my R8.

What do you think of the colour? Is it one you'd go for or would you have chosen something else?

(I ask a lot of people that because I'm just genuinely curious. It doesn't change how I feel about it).

I think it's a great colour - genuinely - but, just as was the case with a similar hue on the E46 M3, this is not one I'd go for personally. But that's just me being extremely conservative (read dull and boring) when it comes to the colours of my cars. I've only ever had silver or white in my garage. :shifty:......:cautious:

Yeah, that'll be Phoenix Yellow, and I originally ordered my E46 M3 in that before switching to Titanium Silver and Imola Red leather. It is very similar.

Do you still have your R8? If so how often do you drive it?

I think the color looks good with the new dark tinted headlights, gloss black trims and with this Competition style wheel.

Just a question on the paint treatment, did you consider other brands such as Ceramic Pro, Opticoat etc before deciding on GTechniq?

Yes, still have my R8. I drive it once or twice per month.

No, I didn't consider anything else. I just went with what the detailer uses. I'm very happy with him. I also had my R8 coated in GTechniq stuff and I'm very happy with it on that too.

Phoenix yellow is such a legendary colour. Unfortunately it didn't suit the E92 M3 but looks at home on the M4.

So, I'm now within the last 48 hours of ownership of this beauty. Probably the best looking car I've ever owned, and I include the R8 in that. I always judge a car's looks on whether I turn around to look at it when I'm walking away, and with this M4 I found I didn't just turn around and look, I stopped and stared...for a few minutes. I don't think I gelled with it completely in the way I would have liked. The throttle had to be modulated too much when putting the power down, so when pulling out of a side road into traffic I could never fully be sure the traction control wouldn't be triggered thus cutting power. Yes, you can take the traction control off but then you risk the chance of it catching you unawares, especially in damp weather, and that's pretty much every day where I live. The engine isn't a patch on the E92 M3 V8, but I guess there's not much can be down about that nowadays. The M Performance exhaust helped though.

I drove an M3 Competition Pack some weeks ago, in the dry, and its rear axle was very lively to say the least. You have to be very judicious with throttle inputs. Fast AF though...

Pardon me should I have missed something, Betty. What will replace the M4 ?
