Hot! Audi: What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
I don't understand this power chase though. 400hp is plenty for an RS 3 nevertheless.. 510hp is plenty for the M3 too.

The C63 has 570hp, and 670hp for 10 seconds, and is not being very well received, so no the game has not moved on.

I much rather see horsepower stay in the 400-500 range, and a bigger focus on driving enjoyment, weight reduction, and balance, not more power for straight line speed lol.

New M3 is 510 hp, and the RS3 will have around 700 hp too when tuned.
And an RWD M3 is fairly close to this RS3 in power.

All while the RS3 is a class below the M3

Rs3 have 700hp with 500 dollar remap? Hhhhaha keep dreaming

The c63 weighs 2 tonnes….

New m3 m5 amg gt63 all moved the game on.

Rs3 is doing nothing that it didnt do in 2012. Audi has stood still. New rs6 slower than the old on lol.

No R8, no TT.

You have to consider the class of car we're talking about here. Those acceleration numbers are very impressive and right in line with its class.

Also, these are the lap times on VIR.. Nothing embarrassing about this either.

It's got 60 more horsepowers, a new active rear diff that everyone loves and genuinely "fun" dynamics whereas the 2012 was a very compromised car with underperforming handling. And it's way smaller than the M2 and weighs about the same as the RS3 from 2012, which is a impressive given the weight gains across the board for all cars. It's a sales success here in the US, which it wouldn't be if it was just the same car from 2012.

RS 6, yes I agree Audi dropped the ball. It should be 300lbs lighter and more powerful, however it's definitely the "style icon" in the segment, and is also a huge success here in the states. Let's hope the upcoming RS 6 GT variant with 700hp employs some weight saving techniques like BMW's CS models.

But the US never got the original rs3…

And all the car mags still say dynamically the A45s is a better car….

And the M2 comp is a better car.

And this is coming from a guy that actually owns a 700hp TTRS along with my 700hp AMG GTR and who runs a rs3 and TTRS owners club.

The previous hardcore owners are leaving the audi brand for mercedes, bmw and porsche, because audi isnt offering anything new.

Rs3 on super sticky trofeo R tyres.

Still slower than a m5, gt63s, m4 csl.

Still understeers, still fitting wider tyres on the front, no faster in straight line over the old model, still more expensive than the old model whilst on the same chassis. Doesnt sound as good as the older version. Still with that cheap interior.

Real progress there audi.

Damn, an RS 3 is slower than an M4 CSL on a track? Wow, who would've guessed...

I'm telling you as someone who works at an Audi dealer for a few years now, the demand for RS 3s has never been higher here lol. Europe is a different story, where RS 3s are sitting on the lots and not selling due to the high price.

Same platform ≠ same chassis. Otherwise many suspensions and chassis parts would've been interchangeable. I'm not even a fan of the MQB Audis lol, I'm just saying it how it is, hell I would take an M2 Comp over one, but they're different buyers for the cars.

LMAO, what are you even comparing that poor A3 to?
M4 CSL? Only three times as expensive at it's cheapest?

What a crazy conversation we're having here.

Please show me pictures of your 700hp rs3 or ttrs. Unless you have actually done it, you dont have a clue on what it takes to get there, unlike myself ;)

So basically, you have no idea what you are talking about but like to type alot

I'll reiterate more bluntly, most people aren't going to give a **** if you've got a gold-plated Rolls-Royce, but if you start constructing arguments based around something you claim to have, and imply others don't, you should be prepared to back up that claim in order to, at least partially, justify your arguments... So I'd suggest again that you do what you asked of Klier, and show us pictures of your 700hp TTRS, and 700hp AMG GT.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
