Audi toys with new shapes and sounds for electric TT
Audi Sport says EV replacement for its long-running coupé will be a total clean-sheet design

Audi is in an “intense concept phase” for the electric successor to the TT, experimenting with different silhouettes and soundtracks as it plots a replacement for the popular sports coupé, which retired last year.

Looks like A6 e-Tron is fasttracked for a launch this summer with A5 to follow after - seems like they want to fully establish the PPE lineup before revealing the PPC lineup.

But this timeline doesn't make sense to me, as they're announcing the next gen EA888 and EA839 in Vienna this April.

Please explain the difference between PPE and PPC.

Also what are rhe EA888 and EA839?

What would have happened to the designer of the E-tron? You can't see his hand in the Q6

We are planning more than 20 new models in 2024 and 2025, including the presentation of the Audi A6 e-tron in the summer of 2024 and the new generation of the Audi A5 and Q5 as the first models on the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) in the second half of the year.

Audi, that's not enough!

With the Q6 e-tron, Audi presents a new model after three years. The vehicle is at most a starting point for achieving the premium manufacturer's goals, says Automobilwoche journalist Lennart Wermke.

Now Audi also has its savings program

CEO Oliver Blume wants more efficiency across his twelve brands. Premium manufacturer Audi is also expected to save more despite the excellent figures. The Ingolstadt company is already implementing a new efficiency program.

- Thank's Mercedes! for planting the seed of discord.... Do we expect even cheaper interiors?

'Wonderful and unique' new entry-level Audi EV due in 2027
All-new 'A2' will be developed in just three years and serve as electric accompaniment to ICE A3 and Q3

Audi is accelerating work on a new entry-level EV that will serve as an electric equivalent to the A3 and Q3 – with boss Gernot Döllner claiming it will be a “wonderful, unique, independent concept".

The compact model is tipped to arrive in 2027, with Döllner saying it will be the product of an accelerated development time of around three years as the German firm bids to compete against fast-moving Chinese rivals.

Following the demise of the A1 supermini and Q2 crossover, the A3 hatchback and Q3 SUV will be the smallest cars in Audi’s ICE range. The A3 has just been refreshed and a new version of the Q3 is due soon.

Er how is this Mercedes' fault?

Hoping the opposite is true - Audi interior quality has gone down (not the materials, but build quality) during the MLBevo era with the current A4/A5/Q5/Q7s etc, so I'm hoping the new PPE/PPC era under the new CEO brings greater attention to build quality.

Don't think that will happen unless Ferdinand Piech comes back from the dead.

Audi and VW are both going cheap skates nowadays with their interiors. Hard plastic on the tops of the rear doors and no rear door trim. If FP was still on top, then the Golf would have higher material build than an E-class and 5-series.

Wow that is a massive launch parade. It's about time as they delayed so many new model launches for many years. I was really thinking at one point, is Audi going the way of Jaguar with no new A4 in 9 years.

I expected Q7 sales to be higher. I'm impressed that Bentley sold more cars and generated more revenue than Lamborghini. The reason is probably that Revuelto sales are still ramping up and the Hurecan is at the end of its life.
I don't know why you think that is? It was always like that, at least the last decade, sedans, "normal" SUVs and coupes vs supercars.....

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
