I wouldn't mind having it, at all...it could be the big break that Audi needs, although it will be all for the next generation of cars starting in 2026
Does it mean that they fired the person who made those last three or four concepts at Audi?

Starting June 1, Massimo Frascella—the architect behind the Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Velar, and Range Rover—will oversee the styling of all new models in the Audi lineup, including upcoming electric vehicles. Audi will launch only EVs beginning in 2026.

They are all but extinct. It's either SUV or supercars these days if you have money to burn.

The only 2 door hatch left is the Yaris GR AFAIK.
And the TT is still on sale....edit; no it actually is not! Just went to the Audi website and what they have on offer these days is beyond tragic. Haven't heard of half of these cars. And the rest is ancient.
I miss my 2007 335 coupe 6sp 😩😩… most Fun car I owned…. Can’t get that level of fun For that coin anymore…

I am in love with the AUDI cars of the latest generations, but after seeing dreadful Q6 in person, I'm starting to worry about the future design.

Audi toys with new shapes and sounds for electric TT
Audi Sport says EV replacement for its long-running coupé will be a total clean-sheet design

Audi is in an “intense concept phase” for the electric successor to the TT, experimenting with different silhouettes and soundtracks as it plots a replacement for the popular sports coupé, which retired last year.

Audi A8 Faces Another Facelift As EV Successor Delayed

Audi plans to prolong the lifecycle of the current A8 for several more years due to the delayed introduction of its fully electric successor. The decision is driven by the aim to leverage the sales success of the ICE-powered A8 in China and to refrain from introducing an all-new E-Tron flagship sedan amidst lower-than-anticipated EV demand.

It’s worth noting that a similar strategy was employed with the Audi Q7, which received its second facelift earlier this year, despite having been originally introduced back in 2015.

A man was able to ruin a company in just three years? What kind of company is this?
Well, and Herbert Diess. They were incharge of the EV product rollout and involvement with Cariad that delayed Audi's next gen cars by 2+ years. Q6 e-Tron and A5 was supposed to be out by 2022, and A6 e-Tron by 2023.

Out of the big four Audi still has the best looking portfolio but it is an ageing one. The A6 is 6yo now, the Q7, Q5 and A4 are all 9yo...
These are their best selling cars not some niche models.

Given all that they still managed to sell a ton more cars in 2023 compared to 2022 which means they have huge potential once they sort everything out.

I always thought the current A6, A7, Q7, Q5 were generic and forgettable, but as now Mercedes and BMW have really mediocre looking rivals they’ve become best looking from the Big Trio IMO.

The clear winner is the A6, this car looks still fresh and very elegant in looks and proportions despite its underpinnings.

If they gave the base A6 the RS6/A7 headlights it would be a perfectly classy car.
The W214 I think has way better proportions, but the graphics leave a lot to be desired.

Yeah, classic design can sometimes seem/feel uninspired but to me the C7 and C8 A6s are some of the best designed sedans historically, brilliantly working around an inheritatly flawed starting point - the fwd platform.
Puts BMW and MB to shame.

Based on the Boxster to maximise the use of the architecture?

The profile proportions of the W214 are gorgeaus, but the issue is the front IMO. The grille lacks identity (the problem of the whole lineup) and the headlights are kinda off. The allaround classic A6 tops that.

I believe cars need to transmit your own style. And Audi, let alone the A6, has no style at all.

The lineup letting alone the few models is desastrous indeed.
Except the doubtful results Mercedes is the only one that has a kind of a copy-paste design language.
Looking that the design trendsetters are now brands from Korea, France and some US newcomers, the Big Trio has to start from scratch.

For now only BMW seem to be completely reimagined with the NK, even though it’s terryfying that Van Hoodonk who has no vision for the brand since over a decade puts his hands on it.
Anyway, I hope they won’t miss that opportunity.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
