A7/S7/RS7 Audi RS7 Sportback Debuts With 591 HP, Sultry Styling

But it is a whole class below[/QUOTE]

Matt`s carwow review is a telling story of the lack of driver involvement compared to the more expensive GT63 or Porsche Panamera. You can probably bank on a number of upcoming reviewers with the same opinion.
I remember reading sometime back (dont remember the source) the AMG GT63 has received a number of specially tuned upgrades exclusively from AMG to make it feel as close as possible to the GT sports car.

I believe GT-4 door is closer to being an AMG exclusive product than the Audi RS7 to an RS product.
I am banking on the Porsche Panamera and AMG GT63 4-door beating the RS7 in driver involvement and speed tests
because they are more finely tuned track machines. This is the reason thay are more expensive.

Anyway, I might be one of the very few but I am not digging this RS7.
The front end, in particular, has a strange resemblance to Darth Vader`s headpiece. Looks like an overdone costume on an expensive car costing upwards of $115,000. The wheels are nice, will give it that.

Looks good,but M5/e63 are faster.

Certainly. But pride of ownership is not restricted to acceleration and lap times. Especially regarding the "more mature" owners, who occupy the largest segment of this genre of automobiles demographic. "Gaze-worthiness", the "touch and feel" satisfaction both inside and out are, among other factors, important. And here, the RS7 excels-while being plenty rapid as well. The Autobahn, not the 'Ring or dragstrips, is this cars' natural habitat.

I am not sure that the RS 7 is not quick enough compared to the normal M5 and E63. An RS7+ is going to arrive soon and it is the competitor to the E63S and M5 Comp. I'm a true believer that the quattro system of the RS7 is superior to the xDrive and 4 Mattic + and in everyday driving situations especially when the weather is far from perfect the permanent AWD will give more confidence to its normal (not a professional racecar) driver.

A few tenths of a second are matterless here. It’s what Jimmy is saying here. In the real world all these cars are evenly matched 99% of the time. Which awd system doesn’t matter either. None of them are worth a damn in anything other than rain until you switch tires.

Like Merc1 & Jimmy said; these cars all within a few milliseconds of each other and pretty much down to a driver's race. However, the 3.2 sec sprint time to 100 km/h in the video is mighty impressive and should put all the doubts that people have to rest.

And to think there will be a "performance" version as well...

This and the new RS6 are the best looking Audi's by far, love the aggressive front and huge wheels.

Slap a lambo badge on it and some pedestrians could be fooled it is one.

Awesome job by audi. In the right colours the new RS7 and RS6 make the M5 and E63 look pedestrian.

Seems like Audi is the only automaker now that can produce and put on a proper wheels size on a car.

I agree.

The second-gen A7/S7/RS7 are automobiles with exterior/interior designs firmly anchored for several years to come. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming production eTron GT compares as, it too, promises to be an absolutely stunning car.

Sorry for being lazy to search or if it was posted already, but what's the 'Ring time of RS7? Was it tested by any mag?

Although the exterior is hot the A1 is the only Audi with an interior design that I like. The A6, A7 and A8 have clinical cabins that need jazzed up with fun upholstery choices.

Don't try to get me excited about the eTron GT. I fear that the production car design will dissapoint.

Always a possibility, I'm afraid. Regardless of manufacturer. Marc Lichte being adament that the concept "is a 99% reflection" (save doorhandles, rims and illuminated "eTron" logo LEDS) of the production car is encouraging.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
