Summary:

Q7 won the comparission due to offering best interior space, best engine, best brakes, best warranty, lowest price.

But the X5 & Cayenne still offer more sporty driving - specially due to their more compact size. Testers find Q7 to big to allow agressive sporty driving - ESP is also too protective, not allowing sporty driving. Although Q7 is very nice to drive - surprisingly good driving stability despite the car's huge size.

Seeing the three cars in the pic it's amazing how fresh and up to date the X5 looks next to the two younger vehicles. That explains why sales are still so good. BMW had set the benchmark so high that it was very hard for it's rivals to beat it.

Well in the X5 case, it was the first SUV to trully deserve an S from Sport.
Ofcourse it put sportness in but not off-road capabilities.
But who really drives an X5 off-road ?!
