Press Release - Twelve Cylinders for the new Audi Q7 TDI

Re: Q7 V12 TDI featuring Bluetec Debuts At Detroit

How much is it going to cost and when will it be available?

Re: Q7 V12 TDI featuring Bluetec Debuts At Detroit

A real shame this car will not go on sale here.

Re: Q7 V12 TDI featuring Bluetec Debuts At Detroit

Well, if they're showing it at Detroit, it could very well go on sale here.

The fact that they're showing it in Detroit really doesn't mean anything. Detroit is a big event simply because it was once the booming capital of the automotive industry but no longer is.

You're probably right, but why didn't they show the car back in Paris, they had the car but they waited for detroit, why? also there is now that whole bluetec push with mb, vw and audi, So you never know.

Plus Audi has not even said they won't sell it here, usually they do, like they did when they first showed the new allroad.

Re: Q7 V12 TDI featuring Bluetec Debuts At Detroit

I don't know for sure, but my guess is they won't, there is simply no market for a high powered diesel S.U.V. in the states. Americans haven't caught onto the improvements in diesel technology just yet, it's a bit premature. I know I'd love to own one of these though.:usa7uh:

I think there's a market, not only is it diesel but its a high performance SUV and those do sell here, also the V10tdi toureg does alright I believe, not sure though. Plus I would think that only Americans would buy this car, given their love for SUVs and High performance numbers.

Audi doesn't disappoint!

I just have to see this in real life:banana:

It will. Whenever you see "Bluetec" you should know that it's a NA market model.:usa7uh:

I 'm estimating the price to be close (perhaps a bit lower) to Cayenne Turbo. Sales will probably start by end of 2007 / early 2008.

Re: Q7 V12 TDI featuring Bluetec Debuts At Detroit

This car looks so much better with this bigger grill and the rims look great.

I wonder if this is a possible F/L or what, what ever it is I like it, looks much better than the stock car!!

BTW, do the Americans like bigger grills or something, first the GL with the larger grill and now this!

Re: Q7 V12 TDI featuring Bluetec Debuts At Detroit

Is it a concept ?

Re: Q7 V12 TDI featuring Bluetec Debuts At Detroit

I don't think the grill is any bigger, it just looks like it because they removed the license plate bar in the middle of it.

This looks like the Roadjet grill, actually.

Oh well, what ever they have changed, it looks ten times better!:usa7uh:

Even the word amazing is not enough to describe this...

The licence plate bar will be removed from all future models (including facelifted ones). The Allroad is a good indication of how the grille will look:

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
