As much as I like Top Gear, half that episode was a Range Rover commercial. The way they showed off the tilt-screen and cameras scream "paid advertising".

I don't know. For once, Top Gear did a reasonable review. If I was reviewing those cars, I think I'd focus on the Range Rover sat nav screen as it was by far the most interesting feature of any of those cars.

The feature could have been shown off during the review footage, as oppossed to dedicating 10 minutes in the studio showing off the feature in the slowest possible way so that even new born babies could follow. It wa done very blatantly to be honest. Well in return, BBC directors probably got heavily discounted deals on 2010 Rangies. After all, that how journalism works.

You have to admit, that's one hella cool gadget.

Cool but nothing uber special given that facelifted S and the F01 has it, and will be in most top-end cars next year. Though I wouldn't want to be driving while the person next to me is blasting an episode of Simpsons through the speakers, but headphone jacks are probably available in the front.

Well yea top class cars do come with this feature but as far as most of the people aren't aware of it it makes sense to demonstrate this technique in detail as far as it is really amazing one. Plus yea they might(do) get advantages of advertising range rovers but they were always fond of them...

Love the beautiful noise coming from the BMW's inline-4:D

You mean the 2 banks of Inline-4s arranged in a V configuration as a V8?
But I get you point on the exhaust note, certainly needs a V8 growl like the 50i.

^ Ouch Bilal. Caustic.

But yeah, turbochargers - especially twin-scroll ones have the ability to really turn the sound of a good V8 into something altogether more... anodyne?

I wonder what version of Turbo and Carrera S that was on the board below X5M. 997 mk1 or 996? I am guessing latter.

I think we should all be more concerned with how BMW makes this engine sound in the M5, because if the X5/6M and M5 prototype videos are anything to go by, she doesn't sound anything special:eusa_doh:
