Great "photoshop"...could really be a (facelifted) 3 series coupe. :D

So, if you don't like BMWs, but you want one to drive you go for the new A5!

Hehe, exactly :)
Now looking at it, it looks really good for a new 3-series coupé :)

But an Audi? Hell no. Please, wake me up from this nightmare :bigmouth:

Just to compare with the A6's sideprofile.

Sorry Audiholic, as sure as I sit here, I know your gonna chance your mind once you see the A5 in the metal! I understand you had set your mind to a more risky design but this thing is Sick AS HELL!! And once you see the market for the A5 bare fruit, you will furthermore see my point! The new 3-Series is sick but the changes to the exterior are minimal, this cars gonna cause a problem for BMW you can trust! And this aint no FANBOY rant, Audi aint playin for the sake of the game anymore! Their in it to win, and this car is gonna bare some serious fruit in my honest opinion!:usa7uh:

P.S No disrespect to BMW fans in my post, I love the new 3-Series but I expected more from them. I had much lower expectations for the A5 and I'm floored with how impressed I was with the end result!;)

Oh man, I really hope so. But it looks dark for me. I just can't stand that rear... (damn, where is the cry smiley where you need it)

I know how you feel man. I said I like this car and it's design. But like I said previously, the rear is pretty much the 335 with very minor diffences. And honestly, in my eyes, this car isn't anything new or fresh. It just looks like half assed effort to push a coupe out the door and make some money. No passion or soul in this car at all. It's still nice though...don't get me wrong.

Sounds funny, but there's a lot of truth in that...:usa7uh:

When you see what have they done with R8, you simply cannot believe what they've done with this one; seems like it was designed in only 24 hours...

:t-cheers:

No offense taken, but care to explain the bold part?

:t-cheers:
I hate when I see a car which represents the next generation and I'm right. I expect so little from all car company's so that when I see their product I'm always impressed. I expected a more bold statement from BMW then the one made with the new 3-Series Coupe. Now this doesn't mean I was dissapointed, rather a little unenthusied! We have to see cars like the 3-Series and A4 for such a long life cycle I don't want to have the new model figured out in a few hour's.:)

Just look at the HUGE difference in futuristic design:

if its so bad...then why is it that Walter DaSilva said this was the most beautiful audi he has ever designed??:t-hands:

I just can't get it to my head how he could say such thing.

Does anybody have a list of the cars Da Silva have designed?

And you were able to do that with new 3er coupe? You're the God in that case...;)

This is what bothers me:

YOU said:

What problems is 3er coupe going to make to BMW? It's one RICHBOY that thinks 3er looks already dated or will become dated very soon and that's what's gonna cause problems at BMW? Is that why?

:t-cheers:

Com on Audiholic ... its not that bad. If you take a deeper look at the rear you ll think of it that it was designed with A6 & A4 in mind .. And as for the wavy shoulder line. I think its a brave move by Audi & am sure it will be enhanced in future ... with upcoming models.

This car has the main ingredients for success. Shorter front overhang, great interior. Wide range of engines hopefully. I can't see this failing by any means ..

I'm not gonna say it will date soon, what I'm saying is if the A5 is priced in the ball park of the 335i it will affect their strong hold in this segment IMHO. I see more Audi's on the road then I've ever seen, out in about, as well as in my own development. In my opinion this is the only way I can gage where the cash is going.

I'm not trying to start a flame war if that's what I'vw lead you to believe, I was only trying to justify my opinion, I do stress opinion!:)

MJaaFY, I really hope you're right. If only the headlights would be more daring in the design...

But I really have to get used to that rear.

Look at the pic Just_me did. It looks like two BMW's!!

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
