Anyway the car looks exactly as i had predicted so no surprise for me. :usa7uh:

Are the kid & your wife OK? I hope they are. :usa7uh:

Regarding A5: look at it Yannis, it looks surprisingly similar to Huckfeldt's CGI. :D;)

Huckfeldt is doing a good job with the chops when he has internal information about how the car will look like for example C and S class.

Clealry now he is just trying to make the A5 only based on Spy shots and that's why the impression is so poorly made and unproportionate.

So bottom line is , get over Huck's PS cause it's a poor one.

;) :D

Thanks for that lenghty and informative post Alwing.

One thing I do notice when looking at the cabin of the new A5 is how nicely they've dealt with the Nav Screen bezel when compared to the A6.

That was the one thing that bugged me to death about the A6, how the square frame of the Nav broke up the center stack into a pretty disharmonious shape. The A5 tackles the problem rather nicely. Kinda wish the TT had the same sort of center stack setup.

Yep, thanks Alwing, very good post :usa7uh: Well explained, and I agree 200%.

Man, 25 pages in about 24 hours (not taking into account the S5 thread) :eek2:

The forum always go nuts when a new model from either BMW, Audi or Mercedes has been launched.:)

I really wish the A5 would have had a slighty more aggressive front like Hucklefeldt's chop.

All the CGI's and the actual A5 car are sooo far away from the sexyness and beauty of the Nuvolari. Sorry guys, but how on earth can you say that something like this looks "dated".

I guess it's time to move on now and forget about "what could be..."

They could have just released the concept and that would have looked 10 times better than the A5 imo. Who cares if it's a concept that they released years ago. The A5 just isn't as sharp as the concept.

I dare anyone to tell me that the A5 looks BETTER than the Novulari...

Join the club Warot. I've been saying that from the start. The A5 looks good but in no way or shape does it even comes close to Nuvolari.

The sinking feeling I get in my stomach is the realization that all chances for the Nuvolari to see the light of day have now been extinguished.

The iconic Audi that never was... gotta get over it.

More I think about it the more I think they should have given the TT the axe and moved upmarket with the Nuvolari, making room for a "Baby TT" to fill in the lower end of the range. There would be some competitive advantage in fielding vehicles that don't directly compete with BMW's and MB's offerings. As is - The TT is directly in the path of the Z4 and SLK, and now the A5 with the E92 and CLK.

I just can't bellyache enough, y'know.

Man, you'd think most of you guys work for some governmental agency, with your canny ability to see the future and know what the general public is thinking. Audi hasn't even shown the car IRL yet for f*cks sake, so Iam going to step aways from all this and just wait until Audi shows the car and then maybe even some performance numbers, before I denounce this as the worst decision Audi ever made.

i agree with Choleric...we are just assuming by only the looks of the car that the car will not have good sales based of the looks.:t-banghea I really think this car is far more elegant and classy than the 3-series coupe.

Well I for one have not said that it will not sell. All i've done is talk about the looks. I'm pretty sure this car is going to sell. How well it will sell? only time will tell.

Isn't that what mostly sell cars? How do you think the 7er got so much rep... it was mostly because of its unique looks. It's not like this car is that ground breaking like it was said to be... I remember something about re-inventing the Coupe??

Who cares what the general public think? The car will sell because it is an Audi. However, like some of the other guys are saying, they could have done better if they just released the Nuvolari (imo).

I dare you! Now what? Most of ya'll sound silly wanting it to look at a car we've all seen for the past four years and look at it for another 4 to 5!:t-crazy2: Get over it! In ever way this car is a winner, why?

1) For all the negative talk about the interior, Audi can afford not only to go out to lunch, but out of the country and still have the best interior in class!

2) It's really funny to me how sooo, soooo, many of the members posting in this form have made statements about how Audi never takes a risk, all Audi models are alike! Now Audi changes up the paste by going in a nother direction, and what's your complaint now? What happened? It doesn't look like the rest of the Audi line up! You can't have it both ways! If it resembles the rest of the line-up it's a problem, if it doesn't resemble the rest of the line-up it's a problem, if it doesn't look like the concept vehicle you wanted it to look like it's a problem, if it looked like the concept vehicle we've all been looking at for 4 years now it's a problem!

P.S I love this form, their's so many people to laugh at!:tantrum:

It's not like this car is that ground breaking like it was said to be... I remember something about re-inventing the Coupe??

Ermmm....do we have enough information to even know if this car is ground-breaking or not?:t-hands: I'm am sure that audi didn't just call it a "coupe re-invented" for nothing.

This argument is getting no where.....let's just wait for the official release at Geneva.

^wow so you still belive there is something more than bs to that re invented punch line??
im with you man..i sure hope so to..
lets wait and see:D

^wow so you still belive there is something more than bs to that re invented punch line??

I was just saying that based of what we know about the car (practically nothing), we can't just assume that the "re-inventing" line is bs. If that is such a problem please tell me.

Did anyone notice the 4500 rpm redline on the tach? I suspect there'll be a diesel available (for Europe at least, wouldn't be surprised if the US doesn't get it)?

If this has been mentioned already I apologize, I just don't feel like reading through 26 pages.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
