In fact, there are very few UGLY models in both MB and BMW lineups. I can only think in the FWD offerings, GTs, and SUVs (GLE, GLA and GLS).

So BMW's 5 looks like the one that came before, but the author doesn't care that every single Benz looks identical.
The MB lineup has never in it's history been so utterly lame. Lame in the sense that everything looks pretty much identical.

Over at BMW there hasen't been a new design since the E65 lol. Everything after has been evolution.

LOL @ @klier and @LaArtist. You guys are hilarious.

While not perfect by any means, no one can deny Zetsche has done a remarkable job turning Daimlers fortunes around so quickly. The job now is to continue to improve the lineup. Cars on the MFA platform are in desperate need of a quality and refinement impetus and MB is now treading a very very fine line with the homogeneous design theme across the range. It was novel back in 2012/2013, but is it now getting too predictable? They still look great though. And finally the remarkable new 5 series just goes to show how committed BMW is to improving the core fundamentals of their vehicles, even if the exterior styling is a little too evolutionary. If BMW has managed to out comfort and out refine the E class, while maintaining its handling superiority, that is a real shame and MB needs to be looking over their shoulder as it could be the start of an era where MB is playing catch up to BMW for ride and refinement across the range. This would be a massive shame IMO.

So in summary, in your face Daimler supervisory board and auto unions for doubting and even trying to bring down perhaps the best Mercedes CEO in recent history, and well done on the outstanding achievement Zetsche. But please don't let the sales race make you lose focus on quality and engineering.
