[+] both: High-quality processing, passage-strong diesel engines, high travelling comfort
S-class: Calm cockpit ambience, matured operating concept
7er: Outstanding handling characteristics, small fuel consumption

[-] both: High purchase price, long surcharge list
S-class: Somewhat behäbiges driving feeling, less Assistenzysteme than in the 7er
7er: With Mark start no all wheel runable, function variety needs training

Under line is not of the two luxury cruisers the second choice. Instead of approximating each other, to represent 7er and S-class developed from each other away and the best of two different worlds: BMW stands for modernity, clearly more driving fun and discoverer spirit, the Benz for timeless elegance, completed comfort and stability.

The 730d (starting from 69,500 euros) drives itself however by far more agiler than S 320 CDI (70,864 euros), is somewhat more economical and can with countless systems be rigged. For the completely large cinema however countless crosses are in the BMW option list due, while the S-class needs leather equipment and navigation system for the completed Benz pleasure with star additionally for the standard actually only. But also that should be standard in this league long.

Soberly regarded BMW in this first comparison gently and strong to Stuttgart class speaker pulls by and sets off around at least one autolength.

Sorry for the Yoda language......

He he -- why do I get the feeling the Merc boys will read it differently? ;)

The translation is really hard to follow.

They didnt say right out which one is the best but this was the last sentence from the review:
"Soberly regarded BMW in this first comparison gently and strong to Stuttgart class speaker pulls by and sets off around at least one autolength."

in german:
Nüchtern betrachtet zieht der BMW in diesem ersten Vergleich sanft und kraftvoll am Stuttgarter Klassensprecher vorbei und setzt sich um mindestens eine Autolänge ab.

Feel free to interprete the way that suit you the best ;)

I think we can interpret this as:

"In their first ever test, the BMW lines up beside the S-Klasse, overtakes it, and keeps at least a car's distance in the lead"

I am shure the 7 er will be the winner.here its like 3 years newer car..
Also the 7er will be a sportier and better handler thats bmw's are and always should be
I think the s class still looks better especially in that pic.just my opinion.
Also i suppose the s class is more comfy and better ride.
So it depends on what you want out off a car in this league and comes down to personeel choice i drive my dads s class so i no its a great great car and i expect these both to be great german cars...............

Oh, so that's what they were doing. I was in Dresden two weeks ago (where the picture above was taken) and saw this very 7er.
it has a huge presence on the streets. it was the first time I see it under sunlight.

Nice to see the 7er win, and with a complete car length ahead, that means there wasn't even any doubt :usa7uh:.
:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: to the new best luxury sedan!
Or am I overdoing this a little :D

Looks like everyone is indeed interpreting this as he likes:D

Three years newer must count for something, the count down is off for the FL S:D

Well, the new C-class doesn't seem to win every single comparison despite being a lot newer and fresher than the 3-series. Newer isn't always better. ;)

Bimmer can't win against god's own creation. :D

Nope, impossible. The S klasse is the best car of the past, present and future!

Exactly, more like 50/50 max for the C. And the facelifted 3er makes that 80/20

^i expect the same outcome for F01 vs W221 vs FL W221:D
