A dream 25 years in the making...

Here it is! Make it mk1 and that's my dream car...
What an amazing jewel you have there! I'm in love! Best car on the forum!
Your M3 + GT3 garage can spare you from buying any other car in your life span... they are just more than enough for any car enthusiast. Ok, you can get a stupid SUV too if you need some space... but keep both jewels forever!
Many, many happy miles with both of them and may they bring you the joy and erection only real women can! :)

Wholey shmoley Sunny! Big congrats on the special purchase. Very happy for you buddy...and definitely worth the wait. Maybe one day I'll see you around at Sonoma Raceway or Laguna Seca.

Enjoy it !!

Fabulous purchase, congrats man. So the new GT3 is heavier than a carrera2 oO, and what about this non homologation thing ?

Sunny, good old internet friend, I am seriously struggling to congratulate you, as I am green with envy. Seriously, one moment you feel good because someone you respect has the same dream as you and he manages to make it reality and then you're jealous again.

Suppressing those bad feelings, I wholeheartedly wish you to stick the pucking fedal to the metal and enjoy this damn war machine.

*Leaves to go drive a beige Volvo like Ken Block, while silently crying*

:D

Thanks every one for the kind words. Much, much appreciate it.

Oh wow what a spectacular car you have, massive congratulations mate, I am both happy for and jealous of you at the same time. There are two things I noticed, the side indicators are in clear color and there aren't any orange reflective strips around the car, I assumed it was mandatory for cars in the US? The second thing is the center locking wheel nuts, are you going to keep them or replace the wheel set to a normal set of wheels?

Yea, I think the orange side indicators were replaced by the previous owner - it is probably the most popular 'mod' in the US. I am keeping the center locking wheels since they are absolutely fine for street use or even light track use. It only needs regular maintenance once you start tracking it heavily.

Congrats Sunny, a beautiful car.

From an M3 to a 911, you seem to be following my car buying trend. Watch out, you'll be a family friendly Audi with s-tronic soon:D.

I been after my wife to get a S4, but we don't get the wagon here, also after this, I doubt she will let me spend any more on cars for a long long long time. :)

Fabulous purchase, congrats man. So the new GT3 is heavier than a carrera2 oO, and what about this non homologation thing ?

The 996 and 997 GT3 models were street homologation models for the GT3 Cup and RSR race versions. And they used the same basic engine as the race cars based on the Mezger block. The engine in the new street 991 GT3 is based on the 9A1 block found on normal 911 and don't share anything with the 991 GT3 cup or RSR which continue to use the engine based on Mezger block.

Sunny, I know how long you have been pursuing a mint GT3 and it seems like your patience paid off! Love the colour and the options, enjoy it bud!

Wow man.. this is pure joy for me.

Seeing a car as a child and pursuing that dream to one day get there.
There are few things that could beat that joy, im very happy for you.

On the car itself, its perfection. A true drivers car, specced beautifully, everything is just spot on.

Enjoy it in good health, and take good care of it ( read drive it like its supposed to be driven)

RESPECT!

You are living my dream.

In a few years, I'll read this and think, "Sunny inspired me."

Congratulations and you have made an excellent choice. Never grows old, this.

So, this is your midlife crisis? :D

Congratulations buddy, she's amazing. I am very, very jealous. You gotta track this thing, at least a couple times a year.

PS
Why didn't you drive it home? I'd go drive it home if it were in Alaska :D.

That interior is perfect, black everywhere means no distraction from the driving.

Yea, I always had a thing for all black interiors, especially on a sports car. Also easier to maintain.

So, this is your midlife crisis? :D
More like whole life crisis. :D

PS
Why didn't you drive it home? I'd go drive it home if it were in Alaska :D.

Yea, I was tempted to, it would have been an awesome drive along PCH. But I wanted to add a protective film at the front before taking it out on a long trip. Having it done next week.

So everyone gets a "friendly" karma and I get funny one? I knew I am getting a ride first :D

Ok Sunny boy. BTW we deserve a proper photoshoot, no dealer BS :p

And oh yes, congrats bro, wish you millions of happy miles in good health. WOT 2nd gear, show us your talent.

I haven't posted here in ages, but I always take note when Sunny posts here (and on Rennlist....:)).

Many congratulations. I read with interest the factors which made you switch from a new 991 GT3 to a second hand 997.2 GT3. Even though you listed several factors, I can't help but believe the MAIN reason you chose the 997.2 GT3 is because of no manual transmission in the 991 GT3. Would you agree?
