GT 2026 AMG GT 4-Door Vision EV

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a series of 2-door sports cars produced by Mercedes-AMG. While not directly replacing the SLS AMG (competing in a different segment), it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.
This car is going to be interesting with a bit of Jaguar vibes front and back. The headlights reminds me of a Jag XJ220, but in a modern theme.

Funny you mentioned the XJ220, a magnificent car, with an abysmal drivetrain.

Here the same could happen.

I mentioned it on the other thread, I moved from an electric car ( e-tron) to a G AMG, because of the soulless drivetrain.

Theoretically, a quad axial-flux e-motor configuration would provide approx. 2000 PS. Other than this innuendo from Georg Kacher, I have seen nothing confirming such a version. Tri-e-motors appear seriously under consideration though.

You not having seen it means very little to a source with 50 years of experience in the field.
2000 hp might sould silly, but when VW Passat level cars from China with 1500 hp are for sale already right now, an AMG supercar with 2000 hp isn't that weird anymore...

F'ing awesome.

I wouldn’t expect from them anything so refined and classy as the XJ220, not under Wagener’s direction, that’s imposible.

Let’s not forget the AMG Concept and after the CLA we should be defenitely affraid.

It’s a bit dangerous, the problems are brakes and tires and the weight of this rockets.

They are way to weak for the job.

We have here some Plaid drivers, they drive really like lunatics.

Luckily nothing happened yet, but I already saw some crazy situations.

I think AMG should invite the 2000HP AMG Customers to the Nurburgring, to learn them how to drive these cars.

Regarding the G, thank you very much.

I'm not sure AMG will make the same mistake as Tesla and provide tyres that are too skinny and brakes that are too small.
A 2000hp AMG will probably have like 400mm track rear and 375mm track front tyres and 12 piston carbon ceramic rotors.

Wow !- it's been that long ? Georg Kacher apparently started his career way back when former M-B motorsports director Norbert Haug was a young journalist with Germany's Sport Auto magazine.

Time certainly rushes by.

He‘s now 73yrs old.

I was able to find out that Jason Cammisa was 47 in 2023, so they use the dates of the birth for this website.

The piece of plastic shell cladding may hide a somewhat more rounded rearend along the lines of the AMG GT coupe.

Personally, I'd be quite surprised should the unveiled production car actually feature a Kamm-tail.

Side profile reminds me to the Lambo Estoque concept from 2008 (?).

Looks great with the camo, but the devil will be in the details.
