AMG GT Track Sport

But klier says you can push the engine back, and the current gen gt63 has a longer bonnet than the m4, so they must be able to resposition it right?

I have nowhere compared the BMW to any AMG GT3 car. That wasn't the intention at all.

Merely calling out your flawed logic. Sorry if you can't handle it, so keep eating marketing brabble for breakfast.

I would imagine the dimensions of the cars play a role.
The M4 GT3 is 5020mm long with a 2917mm wheelbase, where the RC-F GT3 is 4846mm long with a 2730mm wheelbase.

For reference the AMG GT3 is 4746mm long with a 2625mm wheelbase. But it's purposely designed with a front-mid engine layout with it's long and low bonnet and a passenger cell that is sat over the rear axle.

There is quite simply, more space in the M4 to move the engine back behind the front axle.

Look where the engine is, and the wheels are behind those bonnet vents.
Engine is on the front axle.

In the benz its nowhere near the front axle.

Says the bmw diaper boy making up untruths about something front engined being mid engined

That makes your point even more ridiculous since the only thing the AMG has seen this season is the rear of the M4 GT3.

Ah yes the oldest  Never been updated or EVO'ed. Driving the same thing for 10 years straight and still competitive!
If we decide to just go full retard; a bespoke MB sportscar struggles against a front engined modded mass produced company lease car.
Yikes.

Yeeez! Not sure how you even put the effort to answer several times to all this BS.

Oldest engine, oldest chassis.

And its made a mockery of your previous post, and it shows you dont understand GT3 racing, because why can the likes of the lexus be competitive? Because the AMG is one of the most harshly BOPPED

They know the expected performance levels going in. If they ignore that, go way over/under spec, and get bop'd to shit, that's entirely on them... this is fundamental to GT3 racing, if it wasn't, it'd be a dead category already.
BOP will be the end of hypercars. But thats a different discussion entirely. But its relevant to mercedes, in the fact that as long as BOP exists in the top line of WEC, there will be no mercedes entry.

In any case, there most be a method to mercedes and lexus madness to go to all of these lengths on their new GT3 challengers.

The lexus in fact looks great

I agree bad BoP is a threat, and the more complex the variables the harder it gets, but a more level cost effective playing field is why we've got more manufacturers on both continents taking part than in a very long time. Mercedes not being there is entirely their loss.

In any case, there most be a method to mercedes and lexus madness to go to all of these lengths on their new GT3 challengers.

My gut feeling is favourable LMGT3 BoP (or lack thereof) for a class win at Le Mans at some point.

BLACK SERIES TO RETURN?

Up against the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS will be Mercedes-AMG’s own track-honed lap-time chaser, which will be powered by a potent turbocharged V8.

The new challenger will be previewed by the Concept AMG GT Track Sport. Also likely to be revealed at the Munich motor show in September, the concept is based on the second-generation AMG GT coupé that was launched in 2023.

In its brief announcement, AMG didn’t provide any technical details of the new concept but confirmed it previewed an “expansion of the GT series” that would be powered by a V8.

The production version of the concept will serve as the new flagship GT model and is likely to be seen as the successor to the AMG GT Black Series of 2022. AMG has said the new car will be designed to achieve lap records. The 2022 GT Black Series produced 730bhp from a highly modified version of AMG’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8.

That car’s engine is the most powerful series-production V8 the German firm has made, but the showroom version of the new concept is expected to push beyond that output with its own V8. The most powerful variant of the second-generation GT range at present is the 603bhp track-focused Pro.

The preview images of the new concept reveal its track-bred pedigree. It has a huge, GT3 racing-inspired rear wing, a chunky front diffuser and wide front and rear tracks.

The news that it will be powered by a V8 also confirms AMG isn’t yet done with combustion power, despite work being well under way on the creation of the first electric AMG GT, due for launch in 2027 and previewed by the recent 1341bhp Concept GT.
