A-Class (W177) 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class spy shots and rumors

The W177 hatchback was launched in 2018 as the successor to the W176 Mercedes-Benz A-Class. It is available as a 5-door hatchback (W177 model code), 4-door sedan (V177), and a long-wheelbase sedan exclusive to China (Z177).

The individual design elements look good but the whole interior just doesn't quite come together. I feel there are too many different materials and textures all fighting for your attention. Having said that..the perceived quality does look very high, almost a match for the E class.

Wow I am stunned by the new interior, it is a huge improvement over the current model. Many nice new styling details, the door handles with aluminium outside strips, the door panels with nice dark wood trim, those crystal clear 12.3inch twin screens, the simplified center console a bit like the A3 with only a few buttons and those great turbine style vents. It looks good with the mix of brown leather and black wood trim, all black maybe a little too sombre but lucky the bright stripes and stripes make it less boring.

From the pics it looks to be the most exciting looking interior in this class. I only hope that the quality feel is just as good to touch as to look at.

Wow. They've done it. If the A has this level of quality/features/detail the A Sedan, next CLA and GLA will also be vastly upgraded. The A45 will be something.

The screens:

The highlight, of course, is the two screens that seem to be floating on top of the dashboard that’s divided by a ‘trench’. They will be available in three versions, depending on the model and equipment chosen. Base trims get two 7-inch (17.78 cm) screens, while higher level models either one 7-inch and one 10.25-inch (26 cm) or two 10.25-inch displays. The latter two variants use bonded glass technology for the screens.

Still too much use of gloss plastic trims IMO, the panel around the central air vents, as well as the lower center console. These trim looks good when new and in photos but it will not last a month of normal use.

Well you gotta remember this is still an A-Class lol.

lol that is true, I admit the perceived quality of the interior is very high indeed. I will go as far as to say the interior is trimmed with the same materials MB use from the C class and E class.

Obviously this is the top end I am sure the other ones will look less exciting but it's a giant leap forward compared to the current one..

Yupp. We need to see the basic interior without optional ambient lighting, electric seats, full leather and big centre screen.

Other than that is an excellent fit for the segment - expressive with some fun elements. It's a bit too bling for me but I get it. The S-Class steering wheel alone is enough for me to want the car.

.
The screens are smaller yes not sure exactly not I read around 10.2..

Yes, I figured MB wouldn't be that generous to the A-class and the compact big widescreens. The C facelift is also getting a 10.2 COMAND display.

For those very critical of the interior at this point, just check out the current A family's interior. This is a big step up, visually.

Wow, it seems all that waiting to see the interior has been worthwhile after all with this unexpected reveal!! Gotta say I love it:), looks top notch and very classy yet youthfull, now hopefully it lives up to the quality stakes..all in all very impressed, bravo MB..

Looking back at the previous A class thread, the car was launched in early 2012, so it has a 6 year production cycle, which is 1 year shorter then the usual 7 years.
