In looking at the video it is definitely an improvement overall, but that front overhang is still too long. An inch or two off would have done wonders. I suspect it will look better in person, but still not the winner the previous 2 models were style wise.

The model range now includes the SL450 with a V6 engine uprated to 362 hp (additional 34 hp) and 369 lb-ft of torque @ 2,000-4,200 rpm as well as the SL550 with the powerful 449 hp V8 engine. Power transfer is handled by the new 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission. With DYNAMIC SELECT the vehicle characteristics can be adjusted in seconds at the touch of a button, with the system modifying the setup of the engine, transmission, suspension and steering at the driver's command.

This might be all the SL you'll need now. Good to see that they've updated the base SL.

It's down to just that front overhang, if they just took off about 2 inches of it that, this car would work.

The blue one looks pretty good and lot better than pre-FL to my eyes.

I am gonna get SL 500 for a weekend test-drive as soon as it is possible. Looking forward to 455hp and 9-speed gearbox as the previous package was already quite sufficient (0-200 km/h in 14,5s similar to old RS6 V10).

Maybe I am getting old (not even 30 yet) but I love SL 500. I had it for a weekend in 2013 and thought it was for older guys and I would be happier in GT3 or similar. Since then I have tried a lot of cars (458, Huracan, 991 Turbo S, current S63 AMG and RS6 etc.) and this summer got it for another weekend and was impressed. Unless you want to track the car or carry more passengers, this is the best for normal roads. Comfortable for travelling, sufficiently fast (you can out-run 99% cars on the road), you can fly from A to B with closed roof, than put it down and enjoy the ride. Considering the performance at any revs, I also find fuel economy amazing. It is easy to stay below 12l/100km long-term even with fair amount of crazy driving. Eco-driving on country roads as per attachment.
