Macan 2014 Porsche Macan

The Porsche Macan is a compact luxury crossover SUV (D-segment) produced by Porsche since 2014. It is the smaller SUV from Porsche below the Cayenne. The first-generation Macan went on production from February 2014 with petrol and diesel engine options. In 2024, Porsche released the second-generation Macan which is a battery electric vehicle built on the dedicated Premium Platform Electric (PPE) EV platform.
£44K for the 340hp Macan S, I can't think of anything else that can compete.

Neither can I.

Audi SQ5
313hp
£44,055

BMW X3 xDrive35d M Sport
313hp
£42,900

OK, I'm sure the Macan will require a bit more spending on options but it's actually less than the SQ5.

Wow ... just wow. This makes me really wish that Porsche would make a medium sized sedan. Somewhere between the C and E.

I don't know from the top of my head whats included in the standard equipment in Audi's and BMW's offerings, but here, you need to spec them too, a lot. I do, however, know that UK cars are really well equipped in "basic" form, compared to many other markets (and cheap as nowhere, outside the US).

Edit: I specced one of these beauties with the basic creature comforts, such as metallic paint, sat nav, full leather, air suspension and you know, bits and pieces. Grand total?

Just as a rough guide, the cars come with the following key items of standard equipment in the UK:

Audi SQ5
DAB radio
Bluetooth telephone
10-speaker sound system
Nappa leather
Electric seats
Xenon headlights

BMW X3 xDrive35d M Sport
DAB radio
Nevada leather

Porsche Macan S
DAB radio
Alcantara/Leather
Electric seats

To be honest, there's nothing particularly on the BMW or Audi that isn't on the Porsche. Xenon headlights appear to be one, but it's not like they're loaded up with sat nav and things.

Lovely..Seems the boot might be small...only idont like the area around the screen looks cheap for a Porsche wonder what a diesel will ost in SA maybe my first Porsche ever.

It is a measure of their insecurity the number of Porsche logos that they have embossed througout the cabin? I find the vehicle beautiful but pretty pointless, apart from being an entry level "Porsche". But then wasn't the boxer that?

Boring, predictable and useless.

That's the cold hard truth and I couldn't agree less. It's hardly the Porsche that you would hang a poster of on your bedroom wall as a kid. Nevertheless I find myself not offended or appalled by it, just because it improves on the design of the Cayenne quite a bit. What dislike is the cargo space, it looks small for what should be a "big" car.
