M-Class (W166/C292) 2012 ML63 AMG Teased

The Mercedes-Benz W166 is the third generation M-Class ("ML") range of mid-size luxury SUVs. Facelifted versions renamed to GLE and GLE Coupé. Model codes: W166 (SUV), C292 (SUV coupé). Production: July 2011–2019. Model years: 2012–2019.
OMG ~ can we just get on with it please. The damn auto show starts next week.

I like the large air intakes in the front bumper ala Cayenne Turbo.

Not to mention the fact that, IMO, this add is knocking itself because the regular ML is pretty damn average looking. LOL

That's exactly what I was thinking. I think the X5 can call itself unique, but the ML is probably the most "average" or "safe" looking offering right now (not necessarily bad). God, I can't stand looking at the ad without laughing. It's just such a joke.

Bring SPORT back. Really MB?????

So the X5 is unique and the ML is average? That doesn't make any sense man!
But that SPORT thing is weird yeah, with cars like the X5 M and Cayenne Turbo...The ML63 will be sporty no doubt, but they're not bringing back anything. They're adding.

And that Facebook pic there looks pretty stunning! Damn.

I do think so... The X5 won't and can't be mistaken on the road. The ML, especially through the rear, not so much.

To me, the X5 is the best balanced SUV on the market. The new ML needs some spice to look interesting, as use to happen with the MBs. This new ML AMG looks very nice, but again, a design that needs huge rims, huge tail pipes, and huge air intakes, it´s not a well balanced design.

I can't believe they haven't released this thing yet. The show starts Monday...lol!!!

I don't know about this... IMO "sportiness" is not what's missing from SUVs, it's what is too excessive. The G-Wagen and normal Range Rover (not the sport version or Evoque) represent the best of SUV - dignity, off-road ability, and the increased comfort of having a high driving position.

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to see the ML63. The 2012 M-Class body seems to fit AMG kit very well, and Merc needs to face the new competition from the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5M.

Please... the use of the word Sport here is no worse than the 'compactive' crap BMW will be spewing out soon enough.

Can't wait to see the ML in the flesh. In some pictures it looks incredibly impressive, and others incredibly drab.

OMG really? Nothing yet???????? WTF, all the automakers are waiting until press days for real I see. Nothing from Mercedes or Porsche yet.

Annoying as hell.

The L.A Autoshow starts on Friday I think.

M-B and BMW are doing a great job of battling out who can have more desperate, detached, typically generic words used in their Ads/Marketing, to appear "cool".

SPORT. LOL.

Yeah the general show starts then, but press days start Monday I think. Either way we should have had something now.

Companies have been making up words out of no where for ages now, but honestly, read this.

"In a world flooded with average SUVs, it is time to bring back dynamic handling, pulse quickening power, and most importantly, SPORT.

Ferrari's are very SPORT. AMG makes cars that are very SPORT. The 911 GT2RS is very SPORT. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Well it's a SPORT Utility Vehicle (SUV). ;)

Will have 525 PS and 700 Nm, more with the performance package.

The engine is the M157 DE 55 AL Biturbo AMG V8 with jet guided injection.
