Schumacher: Button will not be beaten
ae45cc3e63e4f73295e4d91312678c9d.webp

Michael Schumacher has backed Jenson Button to convert his 14-point lead into a first world championship title.
The German, who retired from Formula 1 at the end of the 2006 season, believes that with Red Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel now over 25 points behind and Button having a cushion over team-mate Rubens Barrichello, the 29-year-old is clear favourite.

Heidfeld criticises 'stupid' Sutil

d9c606d43e11baeaedd402abfbc99ca3._.webp

Nick Heidfeld described Adrian Sutil as 'completely stupid' after their collision early in the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Force India driver spun while trying to pass Jaime Alguersuari's Toro Rosso, and then accelerated into Heidfeld's BMW Sauber as he tried to rejoin.
Heidfeld had to park his car immediately, while Sutil pitted for a new front wing then had to retire in the pits with brake damage.
"I think it was quite obvious from the TV," said Heidfeld.
"I still think it was completely stupid of Sutil, he kept going and went back onto the circuit without looking. I was past him with my front and he accelerated into my car.
"Obviously I thought he would stop. I took a gap and when I saw moving I moved to the left. He should look where he goes."
When asked if there was any action BMW should take over the incident, Heidfeld replied: "Maybe we try to find a brain for him!"
Sutil apologised to Heidfeld for the tangle.
"After the start I was stuck behind Jaime and I could not find a way past," he said. "In the end I had several opportunities to pass and it was not enough.
"I saw a gap, tried it again, he closed the door, we touched a bit and spun, then Nick came around the corner and hit my front wing.
"I am sorry for him. I tried to keep the engine running - I didn't see there were cars coming because it was right next to barrier in front of me, cars flying around the corner."
The accident meant Heidfeld's record run of race finishes has finally ended. The German last retired from a grand prix 41 races ago at Indianapolis in 2007.
"Obviously it is disappointing," he said. "I hope it is a record that will stay for a while. Still disappointing not to finish a race like this."

McLaren only cares about Lewis.

Equal to how Alonsos teammates in Renault never seem to have a chance.

I beg to disagree Zonda, kovalainen is just no match for Lewis, he has has got some speed but his mental strentgh is pathetic. As for the race, god what an aweful one.

Yeah yeah yeah. Brawn love Button, but Rubben's get on with it doesn't he and so did Alonso when he was at Mclaren. Heikki is qualified F1 driver but has unsuccessfully taken full advantage of the MP24. Vettel or Rosberg would do a better job in the Mclaren.

As for the race, I deem Singapore the most boring race on the calender. Just like last year the entertainment came from teams making mistakes rather than cars getting overtaken on the circuit. The overtaking possibilities are outright laughable. Nowhere on the circuit is it possible to smoothly overtake another car without taking a major risk. It's even worse than Valencia.

Thankfully Suzuka is coming up next week and I very much look forward to it though I expect some impressive dominance by the KERS cars given the long straight and fast sweeping corner that come up right after the starting line. If Kimi or Hamilton get out in the front, they will easily dominate the race.

I actually think that both Brawn drivers get equal support, but Button was the one who adapted to the car quickest. And did so also when the Brawn car had a clearer upper hand. Uncle Ross has afterall worked with Rubens in the past so he should if anyone be the favorite.

Alonso and Hami also got equal support, but we know how that went. Since then I think McLaren has scrapped equal driver status.

That's why the sport is called F1. It's the survival of the fittest. Beat your fellow team mate and you'll not only get a higher wage but will also be awarded number one status. Heikki has yet to prove himself worthy of special treatment, especially when he has failed to score points when it has mattered most -- the days when Hamilton doesn't. If Heikki had done his job better then Mclaren should have won the constructors championship too.

On the other hand they they are probably enjoying the relaxed atmosphere within the team now. Having a house full of two egos can result in some uncomfortable tension.
