NSL, what do you think about the facelifted 6er?
I really like the original design (same as the 7er), more than the facelifted one. I'm glad BMW didn't go through a major facelift with the 6er. I would've questioned why since the 6er as it is, is still a striking car with enormous presence on the road, especially the Cabrio version.
The addition of LEDs in the front are fine but do not change the looks a lot. It still has that menacing imposing face that many people love. The lights in the back are also not dramatically changed with the addition of LEDs for the backup lights, and the smoothing of the trunk lid was completely unnecessary, I still think it looks a lot better how it was originally designed, but that's alright still. The exhaust pipes could've remained slightly elliptical in shape instead of round.
Inside there are no major visible changes, except the cup holder insert is gone... so I guess they removed the cup holder and its compartment? (why?) such a nice and well crafted (and heavy) cup-holder that looks like a piece of modern art in itself... that one (or two

) times I used it generated an instant 'wow' from the guest passengers lol). Also, I see the shifter is upgraded to the new design, that's OK. Other than that, the interior is untouched, which is a good thing. Why mess with something that is so well crafted?
I have to admit I completely agree with

As the car ages, it still holds its value, and its looks are still admired on the road.. People still approach me and tell me what a beautiful car it is. As I step out of the car on public places, many people still yell 'love your car!', etc. It turns heads like an exotic car. Like I may have said before, if you do not like to call the attention, this is not the car for you

. I guess the new face-lifted version of the 6er will continue to be that 'exotic', and I'm glad. Kudos to BMW for a job well done!
