2006 BMW 650i Convertible

How is the space for the backseats?

Still lookin' good NSL... :t-cheers:
Thanks James!

The back seat space has very limited legroom.. provided you are not over 6ft tall, you are OK, with the front seats pushed a bit forward. It's about the same space you'd find in the back of a compact sedan.

NSL, what do you think about the facelifted 6er?
I really like the original design (same as the 7er), more than the facelifted one. I'm glad BMW didn't go through a major facelift with the 6er. I would've questioned why since the 6er as it is, is still a striking car with enormous presence on the road, especially the Cabrio version.
The addition of LEDs in the front are fine but do not change the looks a lot. It still has that menacing imposing face that many people love. The lights in the back are also not dramatically changed with the addition of LEDs for the backup lights, and the smoothing of the trunk lid was completely unnecessary, I still think it looks a lot better how it was originally designed, but that's alright still. The exhaust pipes could've remained slightly elliptical in shape instead of round.

Inside there are no major visible changes, except the cup holder insert is gone... so I guess they removed the cup holder and its compartment? (why?) such a nice and well crafted (and heavy) cup-holder that looks like a piece of modern art in itself... that one (or two :) ) times I used it generated an instant 'wow' from the guest passengers lol). Also, I see the shifter is upgraded to the new design, that's OK. Other than that, the interior is untouched, which is a good thing. Why mess with something that is so well crafted? ;)

I have to admit I completely agree with @SCOTT27 post here:

As the car ages, it still holds its value, and its looks are still admired on the road.. People still approach me and tell me what a beautiful car it is. As I step out of the car on public places, many people still yell 'love your car!', etc. It turns heads like an exotic car. Like I may have said before, if you do not like to call the attention, this is not the car for you ;) . I guess the new face-lifted version of the 6er will continue to be that 'exotic', and I'm glad. Kudos to BMW for a job well done!

Here's another picture taken last weekend in Sarasota.

The car's still looking NSL, how long do you intend to keep the car, do you have any idea what you will replace it with?
I've been contemplating the M6... ;)

To whom belongs the bimmer ? :D

The 650 to us...

the white 3 to the dealer, they loaned it to us till we got the 6-er back

think about it... what will we do ?

run away with the 3 and leave the 6???? :eusa_danc

Loaners are common practice at good MB and BMW and other brand dealers here

You mean 6er is common to both of you ?Then who first had the idea to buy it ? :D

How do you like the 3er Diva? -- enough to consider going to the dark side like NSL?

Guess who :D

you mean BMW? The 3 was nice, comparable to my old girl the Bruno C-class.

If The C ever got totaled I would definitely consider the 3 as a possible replacement.

It's been over 6 years since the last post above, and some of you might have seen that I still have the 6er in the garage (as barely seen recently on the background in my X5 thread - http://www.germancarforum.com/threads/im-getting-an-x5.47633/page-2#post-743379) but I'd like to revive this thread with this picture:

My wife took this picture as we were traveling from Orlando to Tampa some time ago. Our cat, Mr. Maboo Tooki is almost 17 years old now and as you can see he loves to travel! :D

It's amazing, but the 6er still feels and handles as a good as new! At almost 9 years of ownership, only done regular maintenance as dictated by the car's computer. The fit and finish of the materials in the interior is above that of my X5 and it only takes a mere second to sit in it to realize you are in a much more expensive car, hands down. She might be old now, but she is holding really good!
