2006 BMW 650i Convertible

Great car, NSL! :usa7uh: Although i'm not a fan of the wood trim, but everything else is simply perfect! What i like best is the engine cover! Damn, that looks gorgeous! I hope you won't mind me creating avatar of one of your pics. ;)

Congrats man :) I like your colour choise. Dark exterior combined with a light interior. Sports package ? I didn't know that there was a sports package for the 6er.
Hi Luwalira,
Thanks! My wife chose the colors, it is her new car ;)
Indeed the Sport Package is available for the 6er, at least for the States. Up until 2005 model year the Sport Package included Active Steering but now it is available as a stand alone option starting with the 2006 model year. The rest of the Sport Package remains the same:
7 spoke ellipsoid wheels (styling 121) cast alloy wheels; 19x8.5 245/40 front and 19x9.0 275/35 rear performance run-flat tires.
Shadowline with Black High-Gloss finish front and rear side-window frames, window recess finishers, and doorsill trim strips (this is very noticeable on the coupe but not on the cabrio).
Eight-way power front sport seats with four-way power lumbar support and adjustable headrests, good for tight cornering ;) :t-drive:

That is awesome!!! I knew that's what it was from some of your comments on other topics, but since you weren't calling it out, i wasn't going to either! :usa7uh:

Again congrats im sure your wife loves it too. First person i know to get a 650! SWEET! Options are nice... the color combo is perfect! :eusa_danc

Again enjoy!

I haven't seen heads up display in the sixer before... :eek2:
Thanks Alx, :t-roses:
Yes, looks like the 2006 model is the first one of the 6ers with Head-Up Display. I love this feature! It looks like a ghostly hologram about 50 feet on the road, very unobtrusive, a must have! I hear it is the most popular option buyers want nowadays.

Ive driven the 645. Do u notice any big differences in torque? Awsome car. Congrats.
Yes!!!! I didn't think it would make a difference but it did big time! (when compared to the demo 645CiC I tested). You can tell there's like an extra 50 'very available' HPs for you at all times. Also I notice a welcome change in torque (at passing speeds) albeit very small but it is there, I can feel it. :usa7uh: :t-drive:

Congratulations, any mods planned? ;)
Nope, this is my wife's car. It's up to her, but I doubt she will ever make any changes to this beauty......
Why mess with perfection! j/k :D

I have driven 535d and M6 both with HUD. The HUD in M6 show both speed and what gear you use. 535d only showed the speed. The one in your car just show the speed, right?

Absolutely beautiful car! If I was younger this would have been in my comparison notebook. Great lines. :usa7uh:

Very nice NSL - I was walking my dog late at night a few months ago when one quietly went past with it's roof down - I was like :icondrool
Thanks Rob!
I was quite taken by its stance on the road when I saw it for the first time in real life. :D

Here's a nice QT short movie from BMWUSA, not sure if it's still there but I uploaded it. It's one of the first ones I found on the 6er Convertible, here's the link. :usa7uh:

The 6er must be very popular in CA. I see them all them time (my viewing pleasure), both coupe and convertable. Very beautiful cars. I've driven a 645 but I'm sure your 650 is a lot nicer. Plus the car I drove was guido-ized and smelt like cigarettes, and I couldn't see out of it because he had the windows tinted pitch black :t-crazy2:
Of course it is popular in CA! The Car culture state!! I bet there are more BMWs and Mercedes cars in California than in Germany!! :D Pure viewing pleasure! I know exactly what you are talking about! Last time I was in north CA, around silicon valley, it was not uncommon to stop at a traffic light and see 2-3 BMW Ms together!! I spotted soo many top of the line cars! :eusa_danc

I saw a 650i convertable the other day. The funny thing was it had the same exact options as you including interior color, convertable exterior color, wood trim, ect. I thought it was kind of a coincidence.....Awsome car :usa7uh:

You can program it to show several things, at least on the 6er: Speed, Separate displays for Cruise Control and Active Cruise Control, and Satellite Navigation Instructions (really nice when you engage a destination, it shows arrow of direction, street/highway address, distance to next turn, etc).
