E-Class W210 1995 Mercedes W210 E-class Introduction

The Mercedes-Benz W210 is the internal designation for a range of executive cars manufactured by Mercedes-Benz and marketed under the E-Class model name in both sedan/saloon (1995–2002) and station wagon/estate (1996–2003) configurations. W210 development started in 1988, three years after the W124's introduction.
This one survived the rough Canadian climate.

That, of course, IS true. I recall that countless M-B E-Class' and Audi 100s'/A6s' originally purchased and registered in Germany found their way to central and eastern Europe back in the 1990s'/early 00s'. The absence of stringent registration/inspection regulations and a wealth of highly talented, "improvizational" mechanics/metal beaters/electricians made eastern Europe a natural destination for stricken executive segment German cars. I'm not quite sure what the demand was for BMWs' back then, but I do recall that M-Bs' and Audis' were much in demand.

This is truly shocking, the rust problem is a huge negative...

I believe the major culprit was contaminated water-soluble paint. And if I remember correctly, I believe that M-B refrained from using entire-body zinc-galvanization. From what I understand, the W210 4matics that were assembled in Graz. Austria by Steyr Daimler Puch were far less prone to rust in comparison to their Sindelfingen/Bremen counterparts.

I am currently in the Middle East and to be honest with you I have seen very few W210 models over here. I have seen more beaten up and really bad looking W124 models that are still been driven on the roads than W210 models. The mechanicals on the W124 models look to be indestructible despite the intense heat over here. Most of the W124's I have seen even though they are dented and have faded paint, not one of them had rust problems and still been driven without break downs

Interesting video comparing the E50 vs E55. Which is the best?

The E320 was one of the best models of the W210 series with its carry over 3.2 inline 6. The E320 W124 model with this engine has terrific performance of about 7sec from 0-100km/h but in the slightly heavier W210 body it still delivered good performance.

I still remember the shock when people saw the round headlights for the first time.

Same with me, they were a major talking point of this car, more than any other Mercedes revealed in the 80s and 90s, the W210 with its round lights was a very controversial styling change for the 3 pointed star.

I always thought the 4 round lights suited the coupe (CLK) better. Its smaller size with the round lights was more attractive. When they introduced the concept coupe in 1993 Geneva show it blew me away.
