That, of course, IS true. I recall that countless M-B E-Class' and Audi 100s'/A6s' originally purchased and registered in Germany found their way to central and eastern Europe back in the 1990s'/early 00s'. The absence of stringent registration/inspection regulations and a wealth of highly talented, "improvizational" mechanics/metal beaters/electricians made eastern Europe a natural destination for stricken executive segment German cars. I'm not quite sure what the demand was for BMWs' back then, but I do recall that M-Bs' and Audis' were much in demand.
