Second place in World Cup completes strong debut season of Audi RS 3 LMS
Audi Sport customer racing looks back on a convincing debut year for the Audi RS 3 LMS gen II. At the FIA WTCR finale at Sochi, the second generation of the entry-level touring car closed the season with one title and three runner-up finishes in the standings. The most successful driver in the overall classification was Audi Sport driver Frédéric Vervisch. The 35-year-old Belgian fought for the title right up to the last race weekend and, as the runner-up in the standings, finally clinched his best result in the FIA WTCR to date. read on Audi MediaCenter
Title chase in South Africa: Audi ready to pounce
Audi Sport customer racing travels to the finale of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) with the best chances. In the only worldwide race series for GT3 sports cars, Audi leads the manufacturers standings with a 36-point advantage. In the drivers standings, three Audi Sport drivers share second place and two others are third in the standings. Ricardo Feller and Christopher Mies win International German GT Championship with Audi
Quadruple championship success in the ADAC GT Masters: At the season finale at the Nürburgring, Audi Sport driver Christopher Mies and his teammate Ricardo Feller secured the title in the drivers’ classification. Their team Montaplast by Land-Motorsport won the ADAC GT Masters Team classification. Ricardo Feller was also delighted with the title in the Junior classification. Spectacular Audi Sport win in America
Audi Sport customer racing clinched its first victory of the season in the Intercontinental GT Challenge together with Audi Sport Team Saintéloc in the USA. The hard-fought victory at the Indianapolis 8 Hours was already the third overall success of the Audi R8 LMS in an international endurance race in North America since 2017. Five titles for Audi Sport and Team WRT in GT World Challenge Europe
Audi Sport customer racing congratulates Team WRT on five title successes at the end of an exceptional season in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS. Vincent Vosse’s Belgian squad, with the Audi R8 LMS, won the drivers’ and the teams’ classifications in the overall series and in the Sprint cup, as well as the Endurance Cup teams’ classification. Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor prevailed against tough competition: up to 30 race cars in the Sprint Cup and up to 58 in the Endurance Cup from nine manufacturers in one of the most competitive series worldwide. Eleven more titles for Audi Sport customer racing
In the decisive phase of the 2021 season, Audi’s customer teams remain on course for success: The overall title in Italy, a fifth championship success in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, class titles on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife as well as overall and class titles for the Audi RS 3 LMS in touring car racing contribute to a strong tally. Four Audi R8 LMS at the Intercontinental GT Challenge in Indianapolis
Audi Sport customer racing is ready for the next race of the 2021 Intercontinental GT Challenge. This year, the North American round at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be taking place from October 15–17. A total of four Audi R8 LMS cars will be representing the brand with the four rings in the Indianapolis 8 Hour. Two race cars will be fielded by Audi Sport Team WRT and another by Audi Sport Team Saintéloc. An additional R8 LMS from Saintéloc Racing rounds off the Audi line-up. Both are top athletes: Sweden’s Stig Blomqvist wrote rally history with the Audi Sport quattro S1 in the 1980s. Endurance victory and championship lead for Audi in Italy
Audi Sport Italia won in the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Endurance with the Audi R8 LMS for the second time this year. With this success, Audi Sport Italia now leads both the drivers’ and the teams’ standings in the endurance and sprint classifications.
