S-Class (W116)

The Mercedes-Benz W116 is the first generation called S-Class, although earlier sedans had already been designated unofficially with the letter S for "special class" (German: "Sonderklasse"). The W116 was selected as European Car of the Year in 1974. Production: 1972–1980.
