X1 Official: X1 M Sport

The BMW X1 is a line of cars produced by BMW since 2009. A subcompact luxury crossover class, the first-generation X1 was based on the E90 3 Series and offered rear-wheel drive layout as standard. The second-generation X1 marked the switch to a front-wheel-drive-based layout using the UKL2 platform shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman. Despite its name, it is now only the second smallest SUV produced by BMW since the introduction of the X2.

You. The Road. Nothing else.
Here are some leaked photos of a BMW X1 fitted with the M package accessories.

Likely, though, this is just a body kit with no engine performance upgrading involved. However, the new 2.0 liter turbo 4-cylinder petrol/gasoline engine in the X1 xDrive28i would be a good match.

But the cosmetic changes are noteworthy. There are new bumpers, wheel arches and front-spoiler with a mesh-grilled vents.

Additional interior trim also seem to be part of the package including the sport steering wheel and the M-badging door sills. Part of the package is an M-gear shifter which we can't really make out with the one interior shot here.

The M package for the wildly successful X1 is likely to be announced very soon.

Comparing the two... I honestly think the X1 without the M-Sports Package actually looks better, more aggressive and sporty.

The X1 M-sport looks very good with the sporty touches.

IMO - I still prefer the X-Line;)

Doesn't look good; too much trim in matching body-colour creates an expanse of surface area that not only makes the wheels look puny but also the nose too heavy and the wheel arch shape ugly.

Like all of BMW's SAV's I much prefer the standard, more discrete styling packages.

Yep, these new shots haven't changed a thing. The black plastic molding of the regular X1 actually gives it a more rugged and edgy appeal, and as Martin stated, it doesn't allow the body color to over-saturate the design and lines of the car.

That M Sport package needs larger rims and something more exciting than those bland 5-spoke wheels, ..but this seems to be the norm for M Sport packages these days.

Also, I just noticed, the front bumper for this X1 seems to be fairly similar to what we've been seeing regarding the M5's face.
