M3/M4 Your predictions on the upcoming M3 V8 CSL

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
Where did you find it Richboy?:D
Please tell them the truth, because it looks they posted it as the real thing or at least they didn't give credit:) thanx!

If you guys want to post the image on other forums I'm fine with that, but please use this one >> M3 CSL

also can please any mod replace the original in my previous posts pic with the one in the link above? thanx in advance:usa7uh:

I have posted it on the BMW part of the Belgian CarStyling.Net - V4.0 forum but i used this one: http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u307/husseindesign/m3csl.jpg ;)

If the car does indeed have the circular air intake, it will probably have one on both sides since it is a V and not inline engine. Like this CSL with the M5 V10.

them pics should work.
btw can someone please tell me how i can post pics straight onto the website instead of it being a link,
thanks

According to german Autobild, the weight for M3 CSL is 1425 kg. I hope its true.

Forget what I said above. Apparently it was for M3 E46....

According to G. Richter he told M5board.com that M3 CSL is 1-2 years ahead before we see it.
I give the car max 12 months despite what he tries to tell us ;)

Im still hearing its not coming.

What then, will be the next great driving machine from BMW? The M3 CSL would have been sweet but I guess we will have something from the 1-series range instead.

No M3 CSL? BMW lost it's mind? very stupid not to offer one,CSL has alot of fans:D

I can't really see why they would not make another M3 CSL. It should be self-evident. Isn't BMW all about the drivers experience?

There will be a M3 CSL.

What you have seem to forgotten is that the E92 M3 only arrived in September 2007. We are not even a Year past. Even less so for North America and other markets.
Sure in the space of the year we have had the launch of the E92,E90 and E93 M3 models.
But these are are only variants suited to each segment respectively.

The M3 CSL will be a continuation of the M3 series but not whilst the car is over a year old on the market which is why you must have patience.
Each M3 series is a high level than what had gone before and that progression features heavily in every new generation also this has to established in the market.

The M3 CSL will not appear over night as will the performance variations of the BMW 1er Coupe (again not even a year old).
But with each generation the M3 progresses several layers above each model. As previously The way to go is Lightweight whilst the focus remains on lightweight construction , BMW want to make these performance cars bearers for "Efficient Dynamics".
"Efficient Dynamics" will feature heavily in future BMW performance cars,
PS output and driving feel is one step , But normally unheard of "efficiency"will be a key word also.

What BMW wanted to do originally has now changed direction in terms of how much lightweight technology will be used and you can expect more than what had been seen before. recent closed door tests included a M3 and a 1er Coupe using different construction techniques and materials and more PS output to their respective production engines to their road car brothers. Whilst original models were thought of along with the M6 . BMW eventually realised there was more to offer with these cars and scrapped the original ideas. Hence why the concept of the CSL series is very much work -in-progress.

It is very much probable that the production car will be considerably more expensive than it's road car brother but what you will get is a highly individual M3 model in every respect from it's road car brother .

Miracles do not happen overnight that is why you have about two years to go.

This is the main reason why I found it so hard to believe that there would not be a CSL. The concept of the CSL is nigh on perfect for developing everything ED that BMW stands for. If the car is to be very expensive it will not sell but the gains in image and technology will more than make up for it.

in the latest issue of Autozeitung they are talking about M3 CSL

Looks like they are mention 0-100km/h in 4.5 sec, DCT and 470hp. Coming year 2010.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
