I'm not yet up to vote here! I'm very curious about the performance of new Lexus! 500 units means... it must be wow! ;)

Ferrari.............Mercedes/Audi.........Lexus for me. All stunning cars though. Why isn't the McLaren here?

Amazing that in this day and time we're seeing a golden era of sports cars. At the top end with these cars and at the bottom with the pony cars and other affordable sporty cars like the new Toyota/Subaru Coupe, Nissan 370Z and others. WOW.

Too early, but just from the figures, and my assumption on what will be fastest around a track:

458, LFA, SLS/R10 (which ever is faster). Though R10 with a proper manual and it's price point is very tempting.

SLS For me, then Ferarri :t-cheers:

I hate Japanese cars :t-banghea

SLS
LFA=too expensive !
Ferrari=ugly (don't like the front, mainly the lights).
Never been a huge fan of the R8.

458 Italia. Without a nanosecond's hesitation. It's the pinnacle achievement in this group.
[The MP4-12C would fit in here if it'd been included]
Audi R8 V10. So special, so capable, so usable. Did I just say that about an Audi? ;)
Mercedes Benz SLS and LF-A tied for third place. Each has special attributes that are enticing: the SLS looks far better and has much more torque, the LF-A is just an engineering tour-de-force in so many respects. Better cabin too, surprisingly. I'll be happy to toss a coin.

Lol...Wow Lexus actually got some votes! That is history...I have NEVER seen that happen before in GCF or GCF and I've been here a long time. Amazing how people don't respect brands unless they build a sports car.

My vote would be between the 458 and SLS. In the end the SLS would have the slight advantage because of styling. The R8 would be next up and I wouldn't even consider that over priced Lexus.

And thank you SO much for not including the McLaren! Seems like people get blinded by that car just to reminisce of the McLaren F1.

Whaaat...?

FYI, many people who get all misty-eyed about the F1 won't really love the tamer-looking, differently engineered, less compromised MP4-12C.

The McLaren F1, as magnificent a machine as it is, is a yesterday car. An immensly special, covetable, collectable automobile from an era that has passed. It's as much the spirit behind the F1 as its phenomenal credentials that make it one of the most desirable supercars of all time. But is it a better automobile than a modern day Zonda F? Hell no.

The MP4-12C shares some of the spirit that shaped the F1 but the end result is completely different in terms of relevance, performance, efficiency, driver-interaction, price and market positioning in today's context.

The McLaren F1 was the Über-car of its day. The car to end all cars up to that point. The MP4-12C is not that at all.

The MP4-12C is an exercise in bringing about an efficient, usable and environmentally-conscious supercar that makes use of the latest advances and innovations in engine management, gearbox technology, construction techniques and aerodynamics. It's a supercar that has its relevance rooted in the global context we face in 2009.

It more than deserves to be included in this poll.

My vote goes to the 458 Italia. It's a spectacular machine with a great history! Almost no compromise...

:t-cheers:

you are right, M3 deserve to be in this poll ;)

BTW BMW has nothing in common with the new Mclaren, so you can relax :D

No, this has nothing to do with BMW. When a poll is created it is up to the creator to include what he or she thinks should be in the poll.

There are enough capable cars included. People are acting like they have to "settle" for another car since the McLaren isn't present. That seems rather odd to me especially at the level of excellency represented in this thread. Even if my SLS wasn't included, there are other cars I could pick from. I could see if it was a hatchback or small coupe thread.
