With a photographic camera. Lol 
I just saw that the window was the only lightsource in the room and immediatly thought of taking an underexposed shot to isolate the light. I took some pics, even some from the top of the stair. Did it all with an analogue film camera. And I just grabbed the 40D, set the shutter to 250 just to check i had my exposure set correctly, and I had. And this is that pic. I think my analogue pics turned out better actually.
Then I just made a b/w conversion in PS, and added a Sepia filter more or less.
