After launching the successful and stylish SU7 sports saloon which some Porsche fans have not been impressed by its copy cat styling, Xiaomi has now launched an SUV called the YU7, which has a little bit of Ferrari Purasangue.

Incredible that there were 289000 orders within the 1st hour of been on sale!!!

This thing is such a winner. So much better proportioned than a Model Y, looks like a Purosuange (but better since this is a standard commuter SUV not a f'in Ferrari) . They really went deep with the design of it, and it shows.

So far, sales of Chinese brand vehicles have been very tepid at best here in Germany. I now find myself wondering whether the Xiaomi YU7 will be the first that proves to be a genuine unit sales hit. We shall see. But even now, the German automotive media seems to be going absolutely gaga over this vehicle.

It looks like all the sales hype on this car actually will turn to tragedy, as many buyers are experiencing bizarre things happening to their cars.

First comparison with Porsche Macan EV and this YU7 makes the Porsche look cheap inside and old tech.

Xiaomi has now opened a design studio and research and development facility in Munich.
Hoping to grab some BMW talent.
Xiaomi has already hired the designer of the Neue Klasse, less than two months ago, just before the IAA.

Christopher Langer
"He was heavily involved in the design of the BMW i3 and i8, two of the brand's first and most iconic electric vehicles, and most recently led the creation of the Vision Neue Klasse concept cars, which preview BMW's future direction in electrification and sustainability."

Now this is interesting. It does seem strange that Xiaomi have the same type of thin headups on the lower part of the windscreen as the new iX3. I wonder if he spilt some secrets out to Xiaomi before leaving BMW.
