New Porsche 911: T-Hybrid for significantly enhanced performance
28/05/2024

Porsche has fundamentally upgraded the iconic 911 sports car. The new 911 Carrera GTS is the first street-legal 911 equipped with a super-lightweight performance hybrid. The 911 Carrera will also be available immediately upon the launch of the new model. The newly developed, innovative powertrain system, with 3.6 litres of displacement (911 Carrera GTS) provisional values:
Fuel consumption* combined (WLTP) 11.0 – 10.5 l/100 km, CO emissions* combined (WLTP) 251 – 239 g/km, CO2 class G ), delivers significantly improved driving performance. The 911 Carrera GTS Coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 312 km/h. The 911 Carrera will also be available immediately upon the launch of the new model. It is powered by a lightly modified 3.0-litre twin-turbo boxer engine (911 Carrera: Fuel consumption* combined (WLTP) 10.7 – 10.1 l/100 km, CO emissions* combined (WLTP) 244 – 230 g/km, CO2 class G ) that is more powerful than its predecessor’s. The new 911 also features a revamped design, better aerodynamics, a fresh interior, upgraded standard equipment and expanded connectivity.

With the relaunch of its iconic model, Porsche has modernised four of its six model lines in just a few months: Panamera, Taycan, Macan and 911. “Our product portfolio is younger than ever and highly attractive,” says CEO Oliver Blume. “It offers our customers even more customisation options and exclusive experiences.”

People were complaining about the road/wind/tire noise on the 992.1 . The Problem is solved now or not?

I get that the GTS is the Jack of all trades, master of none 911, but they’ve gotten so egregiously expensive now. I’m of the mindset, if you’re going to spend $200k on a new 911 - you might as well step up to a Turbo or a GT3 to get the full experience of speed or handling.

I was a big fan of the GTS 997 - when it was it was a nice step up from the Carrera S in performance and raucousness, whilst not being excessively more expensive, but now the GTS has become a 911 Turbo junior instead of the “tweener” trim it used to be.

In a world where a C63 is a six figure car, is this ‘THAT’ unreasonable? Add to that the potential tariffs that will hit soon, I’d be surprised if a slightly loaded base Q5/X3/GLC will be less than $75K.

The big problem of the .2 is the reduced quality of the interior, on the other hand the price was increased significantly.

There’s a new GTS-T in my village, it sounds like hoover.

A well equipped GTS-T is in my country about 250k$, which is bonkers. A GT3 is similar money.

On the Porsche forums/911 Turbo Facebook groups, a lot of members have recently taken delivery or have ordered 991.1 Turbo/Turbo S’, concerned of what’s to come in the .2 in terms of hybridization, quality, and price increases. Porsche is intentionally sabotaging the reseller’s market in an unfortunate fashion.

This is exactly the same situation like in Europe, in the german Porsche forum’s the people are already getting very angry.
Unofficially(that’s what the dealer say)the Turbo S might be more expensive than the current 911 S/T, that’s absolutely crazy.
