What would you rather have? E55 or E63?

Hey guys found your site and i really like Benz forum over here lots of action all great and imformative threads. I'm regular on Mbworld as Bobcanada there maybe somebody know me there.

Back last year I got myself black on Caramel 05 e55 loved the car had it for 8 month when me and my wife found out we gonna have our first baby so I got all worried that my e55 wouldn't be all that good ( winter too) and spacious so i made the biggest mistake and traded it in for new ml350. Now its been almost a year and now I wanna go back (duh! ) cant live without power under my foot.

I really love new E63 i didnt talk to my dealer yet but i suppose he could cut me a good deal on the e55! Here's the question :roll drums:

E55 or E63?

I will keep the car till the newbody E63 twin turbo will come out. I'm pretty sure stock to stock E63 will be faster, better handling, more agressive looking. E55 can be moded and i'd probably get a better deal.

E63 - more refined and more responsive engine. The grille, though a subtle upgrade looks a lot sharper for this car, not to mention the angular front bumper. Can never go wrong w/ an upgrade.

Anyway I`d go with the E63! The upgrades are really nice not to mention the 6.3liter V8. You might save a very dollars on an E55 though. I here thay are being marked down so you might get a good deal on one.

I still like the E63 better! The upgrades are really cool!

I'd go for black or silver, i really liked my black 55 when its clean it looked so bad ass i tinted the windows on it too. For me its either black or silver or maybe this grey color not sure what its called but i like it too.

Now when the E63 is out the E55 is passe. Not only does the E63 look better but is probably more reliable to. Nice previous car and wife BTW. If you reall need lots of space you can always buy an E63 estate, if estates are your thing.

Here's the thing, it depends on the power you have and if you feel it isnt enough, a stage 1 mod makes a killer difference in performance, i suggest try that first, before getting nutty. PS> You can get alot out of the 55 AMG engines.

But either or, both are great cars and really cant go worng with either decision, for the look i say E63, but for performance, i would keep the 55 and mod it.

Example, without flooring my CL55 (Putting the pedal down to the pin without pressing it) it switches into 5th gear at 140mph. That is an impressive feel. Remember thats without pushing the pin! NICE!

You've already had an E55, so I suggest the E63. It's fresh, has more power and it uses the 7G tranny.

Why not go for the ML63 if you want a lot of space and power?

Well With kleemann stage 2 + lsd + lowering module, e55 can be a really fun car to drive, E63 would still probably handle better but wouldnt have such a punch, and i really do love the punch e55 has!

Dunno i guess i'll wait a bit for the test drive of e63 to decide. Maybe even test drive, but my dealer says it will only come august or so.

Like just me said : NA is the new tech and more reliable engine , the 63 will never lose any of it's power , where as the 55 SC is bound to lose it sooner or later ....

You are right AMG_POWER, we do have a great Benz forum here, but don't be shy to check out the other forums such as the Audi and the BMW, we don't bite...hard.

Anyways, as for your question...if you can afford it then 63 without a doubt. As good as the Supercharded 5.5 is there is nothing like a fully AMG developed and lighter 6.3V8

How about an ML63 AMG? You have the POWER (0-62 mph in 5 seconds I believe) and the AWD can only benefit traction. Obviously, it is still a truck and won't handle as well as a sedan, but it is the closest AMG MB in the range with AWD which you said might be useful for the winters. Check out the R63 as well.
